ChucktownSteeler checking in and reporting for duty!

Great week-end for rivalry football.

Just reading up on the rematch and the browns secondary is not 100%. I got a funny feeling the boys in Black and Gold are going to extract some revenge.

Here we go Steelers, here we go!

Mac & Wife, reporting for duty. My toes are still a little bit curled from the Buckeyes' ass-kicking of the Team Up North yesterday. 15th win in the last 16 games, and the only loss during that span was in 2011 when we had an interim coach (Luke Fickell) between Jim Tressel (who was 9-1 vs M*ch*gan) and Urban Meyer (who was 7-0 vs M*ch*gan).

And now, young Ryan Day is 1-0. Smokin Life is good. Pi_bigsmile

Oh, and the High School I went to (Mansfield Senior High) advanced to the State Championship on Friday night. So it's been a pretty darn good football weekend so far.

Don't let me down, Steelers. Let's somehow, some way get a WIN over Cleveland today. Pi_clover
won't get the steelers in harrisburg. we're 73 miles from baltimore so in goondell's nfl we live in pa but watch a maryland team. good times

- Leading rusher: Merril Hoge - 610 yards
- Leading receiver (receptions) Louis Lipps; (yards) Dwight (hands of) Stone

- K Gary Anderson had his second worst season of his illustrious 23-year career, making only 23 of 33 FG's
- #57 LB Jerrol Williams lead the team in sacks with 9 (had 4 in the Cleveland game)
- #27 FS Thomas Everett lead the team in interceptions with 4 (DB Richard Shelton had 3 that year - all vs Cleveland in the last game - the last, a pick-6 sealing the victory)
Have to work. Don't think the game will be on at work.

Pittsburgh needs to Finish it!

And of course... here's the complete game on our site ---> 1991 Steelers 17 vs Browns 10
We need a STOP on this first drive. Big time. Cleveland has a pretty good track record of scoring on their opening drive this year, then going dormant. We need to stop them on this drive.
Guys WIDE open, poor tackling so far.
3rd & 14... and we get off the field. That was a big stop.

They're challenging it. I don't think he had possession with both feet in. Very close, for sure. We'll see.
radio guys are saying it's a catch

They reversed it. I still don't agree. I don't feel like he had control while both feet were on the ground.

I feel the call of the field should've been upheld, whichever way they called it. Not enough evidence either way. Bad reversal.
Nice job to hold them to 3. They've been strong on opening drives all year.

sounds like the D can't get it done though.

They just did get it done, though. Big sack by Watt.
GAME OVER!!!!! just kidding
Wow! First good kick return I've seen by the Steelers in AGES!
guess it just wasn't meant to be
Poor play by Hodges. He left the pocket when he didn't need to, walked himself right into a big sack. Great field possession, squandered.

If we can't force turnovers today, we will not win. Me MUST create turnovers.

why not throw on 1st or 2nd down?  why wait until he has to throw?  There is zero imagination to our offensive play calling zero

I don't have a problem with keeping it simple early. If we CAN run, we SHOULD run. If we CAN'T run, we're going to lose unless we force turnovers.
Great job, defense! 3 & out!
That was a FAST first quarter! Holy moly.
Well... nothing on offense, once again. BUT... JaySam had a GREAT blitz pickup on that last play. Duck had all day to throw, just couldn't find anyone open.
really piss poor offense. No imagination nothing.
so do we hate Duck to?

Dumb false start penalty by Johnson killed it. A WR should NEVER get caught on a false start.

No problem with Duck so far. He's doing about what we expected, and the offense is very vanilla. Run, run, incomplete, punt, repeat.

I didn't hate Rudolph, either. It's just that neither of them are legitimate NFL starters.

I know. Neither has the offense. It's about what we expected, sadly. But we don't have a better option.
