On the Titans/Ravens pregame show just now, David Baker, President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, just joined the show and told Bill Cowher he's going to Canton!

Congrats, Coach Cowher!!! Well deserved!!!  Thumbsup Thumbsup Thumbsup
It's a shame it took this long for this recognition... his chin was first ballot HoF as will be Troy's hair.
It was great to see him hug the misses and one of his daughters. Reminded me of the Super Bowl....
tomlin will be first ballot hall of famer as well

no, no, no.  He'll run a streak of "never not getting inducted"

Congrats, Bill! Sooo well deserved!

This is questionable to me. Bill didn't have a franchise QB until the end, but he rode the back of Lebeau's defense. If he was coaching in a lot of other cities, he probably would have been fired after the 1999 season. This election is almost as bad as Tony Dungy's:

Interesting perspective.

There may be legitimate reasons to question Cowher's election into the Hall of Fame, but I believe our success on defense largely belongs to HIM, not LeBeau. Cowher had success with every D-coordinator he had... 4 in total, 5 if you count LeBeau's second stint.

I don't think Cowher rode LeBeau's coattails at all. You might be confusing LeBeau's tenure with Tomlin, which was much longer (8 straight seasons, 2007-2014).

Here are the defensive coordinators under Cowher, showing defensive ranking (points/yds) and W/L record:

Dom Capers
1992 #2/#13 11-5
1993 #8/#3 9-7
1994 #2/#2 12-4

Dick LeBeau
1995 #9/#3 11-5
1996 #4/#2 10-6

Jim Haslett
1997 #11/#6 11-5
1998 #7/#12 7-9
1999 #12/#11 6-10

Tim Lewis
2000 #6/#7 9-7
2001 #3/#1 13-3
2002 #16/#7 10-5-1
2003 #15/#9 6-10

Dick LeBeau
2004 #1/#1 15-1
2005 #3/#4 11-5
2006 #11/#9 8-8

Again... props to Dick LeBeau. Amazing coordinator. But Cowher didn't ride his coattails (nor vice versa), IMO.
Well deserved!
