Trade Tomlin and Kahn to the Raiders for picks.  Both are minorities and that means a lot in the woke mindset of the league.  The Raiders lost their GM and coach, only an interim coach remains, and they could fill those two spots with these candidates.

The league image for Tomlin is high.  HOF level.  He should be worth at least a first and a couple of lesser round picks.  Kahn also has a solid image in the league and is not the likely successor to Colbert after he retires.  I imagine that does not sit well with Kahn and I believe he was interested in the Lions job recently.  Maybe he's worth a third.

I've always been of the mindset that Tomlin has had his water carried by Ben.  I've not seen any great strides from an X&O  perspective or player development during his tenure.  Since turnover within the team is likely why not do it from the staff as well?  Try to make chaos work as a positive!

The Raiders like to make a splash and this might fit well with their move to Vegas.  Two firsts and some extra picks in the third or fourth might make the rebuild go a lot smoother.

This is likely too extreme for the Rooneys but I'd sure consider it.

I think this is 100% accurate. Ben's 18-year career of not finishing under .500 vs Tomlin's 15-year career of not finishing under .500. We'll see I guess.
Just asking, what was Andy Reid before Mahomes? Belichek before and after Brady? Oh, yeah….

I appreciate you posting this, C-Town.  Thumbsup  It's helpful to see it this way.

One interesting consideration: It was demonstrably harder to earn a playoff berth in Chuck Noll's era than in Bill Cowher's era.

This is even more true for Tomlin. The 2022 team wasn't playoff worthy. The watered down playoff rule changes allowed it, and Ben flat-out willed the team there.

Kudos to Cowher, because Noll had a Hall of Fame QB for half of his career (along with Hall of Famers at just about every position on the team).

Sorry to wear this line of thinking out, but it's more valid than the "never had a losing season" mantra: Tomlin has had a Hall of Fame QB his entire career. Can you imagine if Cowher had Ben under center for his entire 15-year tenure?

Noll was great, stayed around too long and I do think the game passed him by. Cowher was great, finally got the help at QB he needed to get over the hump, and I think he left at the right time. Tomlin was strong out of the gate but squandered a decade of Ben's career.

Man, would I love to start fresh.

Reid was Marty Schottenheimer. Much respect for both.

Great coaches, but one brick shy.

Mahomes is that brick for Reid.
Watching the games the past few days shows we are light years from catching the top teams.

But Tomlin has never had a losing season.

Yup.
I'd trade 1st and 2nd round for multiple picks. I'm sure a team is desperate enough to give us a 2nd, 3rd or 4th and  6 or 7th for our 1st and then a 3 and 4 or 5th for our 2nd.

right now the draft picks we have are listed below (without counting what we can get in comp picks for Dupree and Fieler)

1st
2nd
3rd
6th
7th
7th

Team has a lot of rebuilding to do. Gotta stock up through the draft because they can't afford to stock up in FA.
