72% of the last 11 #1 draft picks have been defense (including the last 5 in a row). This is only round 1. Yet the offense is head and shoulders over the defense. I know that has a lot to do with Ben. Not sure what the stats mean big-picture wise. They can't all suck at the same time. Is it coaching or player development, or a little bit of both? Is the league just to skewed to offense that defense is really immaterial? What do Porter, Jerry O, Lake, etc. bring to the table, coaching wise? Yes, they all had good to great careers with the Steelers, but coaching that does not make one.
