Unreal.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - mcmillenandwife - 11-15-2021

Just... pathetic.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - mcmillenandwife - 11-15-2021

That call was dumb as f--- anyway. No time outs, and he was tackled in bounds.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - mcmillenandwife - 11-15-2021

Pathetic.

Truly.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - RaynorShyne - 11-15-2021

That shows you how important Ben is.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - bbbooger - 11-15-2021

How very Tomlin…

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - RaynorShyne - 11-15-2021

Rudolph was 30 for 50.

Fifty.

We threw the ball FIFTY fucking times.

I'm at work so saw none of the game. My question is when was the last time that a Tomlin team faced a statement game where they controlled their own destiny actually won?

Good question. I'll have to look into it.

Tomlin has never had good killer instinct. Even when we won the Super Bowl under Tomlin, we almost let it get away.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - mcmillenandwife - 11-15-2021

What a pathetic effort by the Steelers. Just awful. Ben or no Ben, that was an 0-8 team, at home.

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - mcmillenandwife - 11-15-2021

I think I set my all-time record for calling the Steelers "pathetic" in one game thread.  Laugh

That's pathetic.  Sick

Holy $#!t. I'm stunned by that! I had no idea. I wasn't tracking the stats because my game feed runs behind and it's annoying AF.

50 throws by a backup against an 0-8 team when we never trailed by more than 7? Simply unreal.

Anyone who ever again suggests Mason Rudolph should replace Ben Roethlisberger needs punched in the face.

Lions play the Brownies next week.

This game was a microcosm of this entire NFL season

And… Now on to the meat of the schedule… Yikes!

RE: Game Thread - Week 10 vs Lions / No Ben Game Thread ----------- - thumb - 11-15-2021

So, throw it 50 times in the rain when your running back is averaging 4 yards a pop. Hell, Najee is the only and I mean ONLY reason we didn’t LOSE this game. What makes that 50 pass attempts so glaring is 1.It was by a backup. 2. Our receiving corps is down 2 of our better targets due to injury. 3. It was raining and hard to catch and hold on to the ball. 4. As said before we were running the ball well.

Buck should stop with Tomlin. Maybe Canada is calling the plays, but Coach should have stepped in and overridden him. Terrible job coaching, at home against an inferior team.

I agree with all of this. Keith Butler needs his ass kicked, too. Took WAY too long to adjust to what they were doing offensively. They ran the same basic running play OVER and OVER and OVER, heavy set, we couldn't stop it.

I realize we're down several players. That's no excuse. Same bull$#!t last week vs. Chicago; total meltdown on defense, allowing 21 points in the 4th quarter. Officials bailed us out of that one.

We haven't had a decisive win all season, and the schedule gets a whole lot tougher now. 7 games left, 6 of those teams have winning records.

Make no mistake: it’s Tomlin’s defense, and he’s making all of the calls…

Rudolph didn't seem good beyond the first drive (on paper).  I didn't get to see any of it until OT.  First drive seemed to be a good mix of run/pass.

From the OT turnovers, it seemed like a string of errors cost us the W.  (fumbles, bad snap, couple questionable calls...you name it).  It was the epitome of playing down to the competition.  Seems to be an ongoing theme.

We rarely won when Ben threw 50+ times.  I'm not sure why they had Rudolph throw it that much, especially against a poor rushing defense.  It was a low scoring game where we were never more than one score, there is no excuse for throwing it 50 times.  3 passes in a row within 5 yards of the goal line.  WTF?  That $H!T goes back to Fichtner/Ariens.  3 different OCs, the similar stupid goal line strategy falls on Tomlin for letting it happen.

This was listed as a Tie, but it was a big Loss, with key injuries to boot.
