1995 Steelers 23 vs Lions 20

I'll never forget the image of my main man Rod Woodson going down with a torn right anterior cruciate ligament as he tries to take down Barry Sanders in the 1st quarter of this season opener. To make matters worse, Neil O'Donnell suffers a fracture to his right pinky finger shortly thereafter. Somehow, the Steelers hang on to win on Norm Johnson's 31-yard field goal as time expires. Tomzcak (who is picked off 3 times) takes a blindside shot in this thriller that is unbelievable (definite highlight material for years to come) but comes back to direct Pittsburgh's game-winning, 12-play, 67-yard drive.

I watched this game on Sunday Ticket, and i couldn't believe it when Rod Woodson went down.

Just a question. I saw your no frills list, some of them have yet to be converted to MP4. Are u planning on converting them in the future (for example the games in 1997)

Yes, I plan on eventually converting everything. It just takes time, plus I can only upload 20GB a week, so it will be even longer before many games are on the site.

My near-future plans are to finish '94 & '95, then focus on '04, '05 and '08. A few games from other years will be added as well, and anything new that I may get pre-'85 will be bumped to the top of the list.

I'll add this: I do take requests when possible, so if there's something you're really jonesin' for, let me know.  Thumbsup

This was over Memorial Day weekend and I was best man in a wedding the day of this game. I was watching in the hotel room as I finished getting ready when Woodson went down, and shortly thereafter, I left for the church believing/hoping it must not be "that" serious since Woodson was able to walk on his own. Ugh. Very dark day for the Steelers, in spite of the win.

P.S. -- I was also really pissed at my friends for "daring" to schedule their wedding for opening day of football season. The nerve!!!  Mad  Laugh

How the hell did Mike Tomczak get up?

That hit would have been flagged and fined now.

Dude, I know!  Pi_freak  It was like a "Heaven Can Wait" hit. Time for Warren Beatty to work a little soul transference.  Laugh

Ben took a big hit similar to that in 2005 at the end of the half in Houston, but Tomczak is a runt compared to #7.

I thought Scroggins cracked MT's sternum. That was a fucking shot. An All Timer IMO.

Tim,

Right idea, wrong holiday. It was actually Labor Day weekend.

Ah, yes! You know what I meant.  Laugh  Not many football games in May, are there?

Mike Tomczak was a pretty small guy too, he wasn't 6'5 240 pounds but the thing that Tomczak had was that he was really tough as nails.
I think it was the 1996 or 1997 game against the Houston Oilers when Tomczak got into with Oiler defensive players.
