2004 draft revisited

I saw an interesting YouTube video a couple days ago. I'm sure many of you know this but Ben was "this close" to be chosen by the New York Giants at number 4 overall. He was actually ranked 2nd on their board after Eli Manning. San Diego preferred Rivers and the trade for Manning was only finalized seconds before the clock ran out. How about this for a what if?
-Schottenheimer is fired and Eli Manning decides it's okay to sign with San Diego. -Ben is selected number 4 by the Giants. -Steelers end up with Rivers. Overall, I'm pleased with how it worked out but I really think Rivers would have done quite well in Pittsburgh. I don't think Ben would have been as successful in New York and may have run into more trouble off the field. I think Eli would have done pretty well in San Diego and playing in the same conference as his brother would have been interesting. Discuss. |

Yeah, Rivers noodle arm dealing with cold weather Pittsburgh and the AFC North's defenses on a full time basis. LOL

Rivers is a douche.
Just wait, he'll throw a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaad pick this weekend, take off his helmet on the field, make that stupid fucking puss on his fat face and then yell at a teammate. |

Although I don't like Rivers, he is the man. He has 9 or 10 kids and is commuting back and forth from San Diego to LA so his kids aren't uprooted. I'm sure he has a limousine driver, but still its nice to see a true family man in this day and age of spoiled athletes.

Maybe the avenue to get Rooney to dump Tomlin is for the Pats to win another Lombardi. I never could cheer for the cheaters but a win might just light a fire under Rooney and the investors. From where I sit the Steelers are not very likely to get it done with Tomlin at the helm.
I listened to part of Belicheats game summary. Calm, matter of fact and not a cliche in the session. I guess if you like flowery phrasing you would be disappointed but he's been there and done that and certainly is doing something right. |

There is nothing that is going to light a fire under the Rooneys. They have their coach until Tomlin decides to hang em up. They are trapped because of their own rule. Live with it. |
