Isn't as bad as it seems. 1,100 yards in a Super Bowl. 1 punt. 1 sack (combined both teams). 1 - 3 and out. No interceptions.

The pendulum has swung to this being a pin-ball offensive league and it just may stay that way for a while.

This just may be the new normal until a defensive minded young coach figures it out.

Sits well with the Steelers being they have no defense! Offense better score 45 to 55 points per game!

We're one minor "Owners meeting" away from defenses becoming 'Organizational Representative Icons' on the field, while the skills competition compete against their opponent

Average football score in 2025:

Pittsburgh 77 - Cleveland 63

"Le'Veon Bell IV disappointing with an out of character, below average, 543 yard afternoon.  Defiantly states, "Imma Need 170!""

LOL, I watch Arena Football and I fear that is the future of the NFL. Only in Arena Football they're allowed to hit.

It's no longer about defenses. At least this season wasn't. The cheats were the first SB team to score that many points and lose.

Brady 505 yards. 1,100 yards in a Super Bowl. 1 punt. 1 sack (combined both teams). 1 - 3 and out. No interceptions.

It's all about the offense, at least right now.

Right.  So just spend your picks on offense and grab some guys off the waiver wire for defense.  Good to go

The past decade or so our defense has got the lion share of the tops pick's. How'd that work out? It's an offensive game right now, the rules and officiating are skewed to the offensive side of the ball. The DB sneezes and its PI. It's a pinball game mentality, did you watch the SB. Catch an arena game later in the year, that's where the NFL is headed.

There are teams that STILL play good defense and profit from that good defense.  But I'm agreeing with you.  Don't spend draft picks on defense then.  Draft all offense and pick up a few guys as undrafted free agents or sign a bunch of the waiver wire.  I'm good to go.  It's COACHING.  It's scheme.  It's a host of things that we don't have on the steelers.  Yeah any defense can get gashed once in a while.  and has been pointed out our D wasn't all that bad first part of year.  Then it became hot garbage really quick.  So it's one or the other.  I still say if it's not about defense then stop picking them in the draft.

It's a balance.  Slant all advantages to the offense, some defensive coach will find a way to shut it down.  That person will be the next "Belechik" - the next 'genius' - until the pendulum swing the other way
