Lamar Jackson doesn't belong anywhere near the 1st round and if the Steelers take him the entire front office should be fired.
He's this years Christian Hackenburg.
Hell, Hackenburg may have better accuracy.

no one but the Jets thought hack was worth a pick that high.  Jackson makes all the throws all over the field with accuracy so i'm not sure what you're talking about.  Most evaluators of talent think he's worth a late 1st early 2nd so I guess they're all wrong?  This kid can play and he'll be a great one.  There is ZERO comparison to hackenburg.  None.

and with this defensive coaching staff how has all that defensive talent worked out lately?  Jarvis - gone   Dupree - invisible   Watt - disappeared in the 2nd half of the season.  Burns - Toast    This defensive staff hasn't been able to develop much on their side of the ball and now we hire a guy from UCLA that had horrible defensive secondaries there and we think somehow that's going to change by moving him up to the NFL?  No thanks.  As long as your going to coach a D like our guys do you better think ahead to having plenty of offense

I found only one mock that had evans falling that far.  He will not make it past Buffalo.  Marcus Allen is LONG gone before that pick, so yeah I like it but there's no chance

This team HAS to get a couple guys for the middle of this defense, they have to, whether it be NT/Dt or ILB, whatever.
As far as the defensive COACHING, hey you're preaching to the choir bud.
Personally I thought Butler should have been fired and someone like Del Rio brought in.
Jarvis Jones was a total toiletbug and was never going to develop even with Vince Lombardi in his facemask, Jones had no strength or real agility, he was a dud.
T.J Watt is going to be just fine, he broke down in the 2nd half of the year just like most rookies do, the kid is a player and so 
is Artie Burns imo, they'll be fine.
The guy who I thought would break out last year and have a great season was Sean Davis, that's the kid that 
I thought shit the bed and really disappointed.
As far as Samuel L Lamar Jackson? Sorry, i aint budgin' on that, I think if the kid was smart he'd be out somewhere catching footballs
and refining his route-running because he's not a QB in the NFL and he's going to be a greasefire.

He may not fall, but it happens:

Woodson should have never fell to the Steelers
Ben should have never fell to the Steelers
DeCastro should have never fallen to the Steelers

It happens, there are surprises in every draft. Historically an ILB isn't a sexy 1st round pick.

I don't recall Ben falling I thought he went about where he was supposed to go. Woodson same thing. If you think there are 27 teams that are going to pass on one of the top two ILB in the draft I guess it's possible. He's not going to fill Shazier's shoes though. No one will. The kid from PSU may go top of 2nd or even bottom of 1st. just my thoughts.

no issue with that.  It illustrates my point.  Sometimes when teams make the "right" call it's not at all.  I simply wanted to point out that the Steelers felt that way about those two.  Now?  Not so much.  But some of that could be coaching.  It's time for Peezy to get on with a different career. Also I'd rather have an outcry when the pick is made and then everyone admit that the pick was ok. Had Ju Ju been the 1st pick right now we'd all be saying "oh yeah that was ok!!"

Has anyone else listened to this kids interviews? I find his speech pattern like nails on a chalkboard... gah. He seems like a humble down to earth kid but man... I wouldn't let him run a 5th grade math class let alone an NFL offense. Additionally, the passage of time between Kordell and Kordell 2.0 is still insufficient. I don't want to sit through that agony again.

I would like to see his 40 in his pro-day whenever that is... he expects it to be in the 4.3 range... I hope the kid goes to a good team just not the black and gold... also I hope I don't have to eat these words... does that make me a hater?
