Friends... I'm looking for a recording of the 1993 Steelers vs. Saint game (37-14). This is one of my all-time favorite games because it's the most dominating quarter of football I've ever seen a DB have. The Saints came in a 5-0 and Rod Woodson just goes OFF on them. He was so scary good in this game and it's one of the reasons he was named 1993 Defensive Player of the Year.
I found my original recording of the game last week, only to discover it wouldn't play, fast forward or rewind. I changed cases multiple times. I tried different spools. I tried taking out the stops. I think it's a matter of the tape breaking down and not having the necessary lubricants anymore. After trying and trying and trying, I've finally given up. At least for now. So... does anyone out there have a really great recording of this game? |

I have it but I have to look for it. Not sure how the quality on tape will play after all these years.

There was a game a few seasons back vs. the Chargers in which we controlled the ball in the 3rd quarter all but 1 play (IIRC). Anyone have that tape? I seem to remember a punter by Gardoski that came down and ricocheted off a Chargers helmet allowing us to keep another long drive alive.

Woodson was an absolute physical freak with off-the-charts football i.q. and work ethic to match. Overall, was there really anyone better?

Can't ^&*(*&^& find it! I did find the Noll final game, the 1984 Denver game, and Cowher's 1992 Debut.
Still looking. |

I'd still love to see even a clip of Joe Green gut punching the Denver Lineman in the 1975 playoff game. I remember it live and it was pure awesomeness! Here is an article on the incident: Joe Green Punch
"Greene suggested on Saturday that he had to take the law into his own hands. "My job is to get to the man with the ball," Greene explained. "If the man in front of me is impeding me illegally and the officials are not calling it a foul . . . then I have to do something about it. "Believe me - those punches I threw at Howard and then at center Mike Montler were retaliatory reactions. You can put them in the category of defending one's self. And - believe me - I take more . . . than I dish out. I'm a gentleman." "Just give me a six-pack and 30 minutes to rest and lets go out and play 'em again!" - Jack Lambert |

I haven't uploaded it yet, but in the '77 Divisional game vs. Denver, Joe is getting held and he hauls off and punches the guy in the gut. Plain as day. The guy staggers back and takes a wild swing and Joe gets flagged. Shortly thereafter, Joe is being held again and he just hammers the guy, again, with a punch to the gut. This time, the guy goes down and is on the turf for several minutes before leaving the game with help from the Denver coaching staff. If you repeatedly held Joe Greene after being warned, you were going to pay a price. ![]() |

Paul Howard was always a dirty player. Keith Bishop on the Broncos was even worse.

Gotta hand it to you. The condition of your 1994 Steelers/Eagles game is flawless. No tape jump at all.

Tim, I'll have something for you soon. Have to go through some bins. I think I might have that 1993 Chargers game also.
Anything besides games you want? I might have the first round of the 2004 draft on DVD somewhere. Just let me know. I hope I find those 1984 Denver and Raiders games on DVD, if not I'll send you the tapes. Just have to find them. Also has 5th quarter post game from Pittsburgh. |

I'm going to put up the rest of the '94 season (I'm missing the losses other than the opener vs. Dallas and the playoff loss to SD), then I'd like to put up '95. Like '93 and '94, a lot of my '95 VHS tapes haven't aged very well. Lots of flutter, etc. How's the quality on your '95 season? Other complete seasons I'd eventually like to put up (if the NFL doesn't end our fun) are '04, '05 and '08. P.S. -- Over the weekend, I'm going to dig out my old VCR that many of these games were originally recorded on and see if I have better luck dubbing from it. It's old, but it was a really good VCR and tapes tend to play better on the VCR they were recorded with. |

Tim, I found some tapes from the 93 and 94 season. Shoot me a pm or email me your email address and I'll get them out to you. Bonus, if you reply in the next 30 minutes, I'll ship today.

My 1995 season is bad. But the rest of them are OK.
1995 was taped on SLP speed, so that I knew that was gonna be bad because I don't have the original VCR. Converting isn't the issue for me, stopping tape shaking is. :(

I got the story a little bit backwards, Krunch, but pretty close. Here's the video. Mean Joe Greene is channeling Smokin' Joe Frazier at 59:10 and 64:18, and then he recovers a fumble a play later just to rub their noses in it. Such a bad ass! 1977 AFC Playoffs Steelers 21 at Broncos 34 |

As for Roger Goodell and his ruination of the game, a big FU this morning to him. Thanks again Tim! If you have it? 1990 Steelers at Denver is a must upload. Louis Lipps and Bubby destroyed Denver CB Alton Montgomery so bad that he wouldn't talk to the media and just up and left the Broncos locker room. He claimed "I have to go somewhere". LOL
