No way around those words. So give him what he wants. And recoup any bonus money you can get via the CBA also. |

He'll never do it, but Tomlin should tell all the players to deactivate their Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts for the rest of the season, and do the same with his own to set an example. He can't make Colbert or Art II join him, of course, though I'd hope they would. You can't blame all the team's problems on social media, but social media sure as hell won't fix them, either.

HOW IS IT CRAP?
He not only disagreed with this former team employee, he said he WANTS to find out if he would produce without Ben. So appease him. If he wants out after the way this team has kissed his ass for 9 years? Bye. |

Tomlin treats his players like men, not high school or college boys. If they choose not to act like men in return, it's not his fault. He's not going to change his coaching style, nor should he. He's not going to be fired, nor should he, at least not for stuff like this. He's more likely to be let go for the defensive problems they've been having, though I'll be shocked if it happens after this season no matter how bad it is.
That said, there's a time for even players' coaches to lay down the law, and that time is here for Brown. If he's not suspended for at least a half on Monday night, I'll be surprised. I might even leave him at home if I was Tomlin, but if it's hot on Monday night in Tampa we may need him if other receivers start cramping. As unpopular as appearing to ignore his antics may be, an 0-2-1 start would be even more so. |

aME won't lose playing time for skipping work.
Tomlin is gutless. Just name Brown head coach. |

Tomlin has said before that he won't put player discipline ahead of winning, provided that the player in question is productive enough in his view. It's a double standard, but at least he's open about it and consistently applies it, as we're seeing here. I can't say I'm okay with his decision, but I understand it. Brown better have a good enough game to justify it, though!

Then why did he send Santonio Holmes home before the Giants game in 2008?
Not playing Brown on the first series should have been the least he could have done. |

Brown is better than Holmes was, and the team's 0-1-1 and needs a win almost any way it can get one this week. That's about what it boils down to.

Antonio Brown:
"We haven't won a game yet. For me, as a Steeler, that's unacceptable. I'm not on the sideline begging for the ball or making statements. I'm pissed off; we're losing. We suck." "Obviously "We got to find a way to win," Brown said. "No excuse. We could point the finger at anyone; we got to look within ourselves, see how we could be the difference to make us win." Any disagreements? |

Seriously, I’m probably the only poster on this board that was a fan back in the early 60s. I saw those really good Buddy Paker teams disintegrate into the Bill Austin disaster. I saw the talent drain of the dynasty years. Even the rise and fall of the 1900s and the oughts teams. What I am seeing with this squad resembles more like what happened at the end of the Parker era, than the others, where the only thing left to do is a complete rebuild. Knowing the Rooney’s, unless some miracle occurs, like the lights come on in Butlers head, or a game changing type player or two falls in our laps, that will likely happen when Ben hangs them up.
