I also think Tomlin wanted an extended look at both Ridley and Sameauls because if Leaving'On Bell comes back one of them will probably be cut.

That's right, with the transition tag. They can match any offer another team gives him, if they want to. They're not sure yet what the base price (the money they'll pay Bell if no other team negotiates with him, which is unlikely) of the tag will be.

Right now I think they need to look at a FA RB. Nothing against Connor but he may hit a wall near play-offs. CJ Anderson and Jamaal Charles are both available (on the cheap).
