What are your thoughts, roster is Connor, Samuels, and Ridley. Ridley has seemed to take a set back. Not much proven after Connor and he hasn't played a full season yet. Can he carry the season and possible play-off work-load? No one really knows.
Should we kick the tires on a few available backs? CJ Anderson was frecently released from the Panthers, should the Steelers bring him in for a look see? He was a pro-bowler in 2014 and a 1,000 yard back last year. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/25259021/carolina-panthers-waive-rb-cj-anderson Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

Jamaal Charles is available as well.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/i...al-charles I think we need to bring a RB in for the long run. Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

Is going to be? No one no for sure, although I think he will. I'm concerned about December and January ball.

I have a hard time believing we're fine when our backups are averaging 3.1 and 2.6 yards per carry behind the best line in football. I'm hoping like heck Conner stays healthy.

I worry Connor will hit a wall late in the season/ play-offs or get nicked-up. I'n not comfortable with Ridley/ Samuels if Connor is out. Decent back-ups, but not starting material. ![]() ![]() ![]() Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

You see no difference in how they are used as to how Connor is used? Geeze |

There are reasons not a single team has signed those folks you mentioned Do you really think if they were an answer that someone out there wouldn't have signed them already? We have good backups now. Why bring in washed up guys that can't play anymore? I think I'm done with this |

Big win yesterday but not sure we are still set at RB. Connor had 25 yards rushing, that won't cut it in the play-offs. I do think a little of this was the time of possession in the first half, the defense couldn't stop a 1-dimensional team, but did manage to keep them out of the red-zone most of the game.
I re-watched the 4th quarter last night and Connor had 2 HUUUUUGE drops and an an error out in the flat. This may be attributed to his first big game, I don't know. I still believe we need to bring an experienced RB for the play-offs. Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

It's attributed to him being a human being and dropping a couple passes. you need to relax. how many did McDonald drop? He's still around. We became one dimensional way to early and gave up on the running game without giving it a chance I have no idea what connor has to do to make you relax. But do keep worrying and looking for that all pro on the waver wire that every other team has missed on this year. you need to relax. How bad did Ben play? 3 Ints? That's one bad game we should be looking to sign another QB as well! sheesh |

here is you on Samuels after the draft
How Jaylen Samuels can be just what the doctor ordered for the Steelers offense Considering the Pittsburgh Steelers draft class, outside of the Terrell Edmunds pick, there seemed to be significant value overall in the draft. However, on my big board and overall, Jaylen Samuels was the best value. Graded to be a early third rounder by me, I found Samuels to be the most intriguing offensive prospect in the draft. It is not because he is necessarily the best, or the most explosive athlete in the draft, but what it is a lock and key fit for the Steelers. Samuels is not only a RB, but a WR, TE, and FB. Never doubt what he can add, but also who the guy is overall. Samuels is the most versatile player in the draft. He can move chains, he can run routes, and he can run out of the backfield. There is not much more you could ask of the guy. It inherently should find him snaps due to this versatility, so let’s see how he fits within the offense. What exactly is Jaylen Samuels? An overall report on what Jaylen Samuels is should give it away. Samuels is an experienced route runner and can create separation on short throws because of it. This is an essential skill because it allows Samuels to work effectively out of the slot and out of the backfield. His separation can be mitigated somewhat when he is actually asked to run more of a real route, but so is Le’Veon Bell’s. Samuels looks like Le’veon Bell in some ways, but he actually looks more athletic. He has some impressive burst, compared to how he tested and his size, and he will impress on tape when he hits the corner at top speed. He is pretty shifty too, although he does not exactly run through contact, he is not afraid of it, and has some incredibly strong hands. He catches the football with his hands, not his body, and always holds on through traffic. Here is his testing for reference. Read more: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/20...n-bell-nfl you also called him a chain mover. So relax |

I'm not saying Sameuls is bad or won't be good, I'm saying he's not ready for prime time. I believe in due time Sameuls will be a key piece of the offense. I just don't think we can put him in a starter's role now if Connor went down or hit a wall. Not fair to him or the team. Next season probably a different story.

I’m of a bent that if Connor goes down, we are screwed. I agree Ridley looks like he has slowed considerably, maybe from a lack of use. Samuels has all the looks of becomm9ng a PE teacher soon, if he got his degree. |
