I had to look up the stats. I've never despised a kicker the way I despised David Trout in 1981. He missed 8 PATs (38 of 46) in an era when it was still a 20-yard kick and hit only 12 of 17 FGs. He was so bad that there came a point in the season where we just stopped attempting FGs if it was 4th and manageable. In my view, he cost the Steelers at least 3 games in 1981.
Boswell isn't as bad as Trout yet... but in the modern era, he's having one of the worst years I've seen since Trout. |
