Maybe this is how you motivate a head-coach.....

John Harbaugh reportedly is on the way out of Baltimore.
The Ravens and their head coach likely will agree to a "mutual parting of the ways" once the season is over, according to CBS Sports.

Harbaugh isn't expected to be fired in the middle of the 2018 season, but the likelihood of him returning in 2019 is "very bleak," per the report.

Next year is the final season in Harbaugh's contract, and there isn't expected to be another one-year contract tacked on to Harbaugh's current deal.

Harbaugh was hired by team owner Steve Bisciotti in 2008, the same year the team selected Joe Flacco, and took the team to a Super Bowl win in 2012.

Funny how this worked out, perhaps Tomlin needs a little fire under his seat.

LOS ANGELES -- John Harbaugh will remain the coach of the Baltimore Ravens for the 2019 season and possibly beyond, a strong vote of confidence the night before Saturday's pivotal game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Ravens announced Friday night that they are working on an extension to Harbaugh's existing contract, which expires after the 2019 season. This will presumably be a multiyear extension instead of the one-year deal Harbaugh received before the start of the 2017 season.

Solid coaching, great defense, and a little win streak does wonders.

Harbaugh's Ravens over many seasons had this drive, heart and meanness that outmatched Steeler teams who had as much or more talent. The Ravens would just out punch the Steelers so may times. To me, that is at least partially based on coaching - getting the team prepared with great strategies, firing up the players and, "real time" game adjustments.
