I saw some douche on NFL Network last night (a former player opposite Willie McGinnis, can't recall who it was) putting the blame for AB's bullshit on Big Ben.
He kept saying, "Nobody ever blames Big Ben. It's always someone else." And then he added a bunch of fiction, pure "maybe this happened" fantasy conjured in his own mind, to supposedly make his case. To his credit, McGinnis wasn't buying it. You know, whether Ben is difficult to work with or not (and I don't think he really is), here are a few facts: Ben isn't the one throwing a tantrum over a spat at practice. Ben wasn't the one skipping team meetings. Ben wasn't the one skipping practice due to fake injuries. Ben wasn't the one ignoring calls and texts from his coaches and teammates. Ben wasn't the incredibly entitled ass who showed up at the game, having skipped practice all week, expecting to play. Ben has never, EVER, turned his back on his teammates. AB is a pussy. What kind of person turns their back on their teammates in a must-win situation with the playoffs on the line? His contract is such that trading him or cutting him seems to really put the team in a bad situation cap-wise. Not sure how suspending him for conduct detrimental to the team impacts the salary situation, but something serious must be done. If not for the $21-$22 million cap hit, I'd be in favor of jettisoning him immediately. Let him go the way of Santonio Holmes so that 5 years from now after a forgettable few seasons away from Pittsburgh, AB can show up during halftime at a home game, hang out with the old-timers and claim he was always a Steeler at heart. Get the f--- out, asshole. The team is WAY bigger than you. |

Tim - I agree with 99% of everything you posted. However I don't agree with rewarding his jack-ass be releasing him. Somewhere someone has to take a stand against players like Bell and Brown. If I'm Rooney II first I tell Bell - hey bub - you owe me 6 games. You're franchised again. You either live up to your contract or I'll tie this up in court until you're 38 years old. Same with A-B, you signed a very lucrative deal and you're going to fulfill it. You don't show up - you don't get paid. This pussified drama has to stop. By the way trading Brown after June 1 will lessen the cap hit substantially. I hope he never suits u again for the Black and Gold, but I hope we get something in return for him. If we don't this will open the flood gates for every player in the league. Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

However, fighting battles like that would continue to drag the team through the drama. Having the most talent doesn't = championships. It helps... but team cohesion (plus the right amount of talent) means more. |

Didn't you hear? Ben is the reason AB has Baby Mama Drama, he's also the reason he was chucking furniture off a 14th floor balcony, as well as driving 100 MPH on McKnight Road.
AB also blamed Ben for his being hours late to a function at Children's Hospital. He's going to end up broke or in jail, and his enablers will still blame Ben. |

I would have loved to have seen this, on the field, during pre-game warm-ups...LOL
Colin Dunlap said this AM that according to a player in the locker room whom he spoke with said that if Brown was allowed to play, there would have been mutiny in the locker room to the point that they could have seen his uniform forcibly removed by other players! |

Get out. 10 playoff games, TDs in only 2 of them. Mark my words: AB will retire with exactly ONE Super Bowl catch for ONE yard. It's happened several times over the years; get rid of the problem child WR, go back to the Super Bowl. Cedrick Wilson was a downgrade from Plaxico Burress... but we went to the Super Bowl. Mike Wallace was a downgrade from Santonio Holmes... but we went to the Super Bowl. If we can make some moves to solidify this defense, the offense will still be plenty good enough. Without Bell, without Brown. As long as Ben is under center, the offense will be strong. We don't need Ben to win passing titles anyway. His best passing years have typically come in "off" years for the team. It sucks about the cap hit on AB. A $21M hit even if we trade him? How the F--- does that work? Nonetheless, he needs to go. I pray we can find one more high quality LB and one more high quality DB. And a kicker who doesn't need therapy. LOL. We're "that" close IMO, assuming Tomlin can get his shit together and somehow get control of this team again. |

Knowing the Steelers, they normally trade for a lower pic quickly to get them out of the picture and media. Such was Santonio Holmes for a 3rd rounder I think?
I would say, trade to a bottom NFC team, for a first rounder and a third round. + A Defensive player... |

You can always hope that a team like the Redskins make an outrageous offer.
Probably won't happen but I'd try and sign Fitz for a year, bring him home and try and get him a ring. great leader, both on and off the field. Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler specifically put Jones' story in a Tweet while reporting that HE talked to a player who was there, and this player told Fowler that Ben didn't say ANY of the words that Jones claims he did.
AB has flipped his lid, talking about men (like Peter King) who are put in a position of power, etc. IMO he wants more money. I also think he's unstable, and should not be allowed on the field again until he is mentally evaluated by medical professionals. |

Who or what are you talking about? An explanation and/or a link would help.

Trade Brown for either a proven MLB or CB with possibly draft pick(s) and then find Browns replacement in free agency or the draft.
Time for the front office to be aggressive this offseason for a change.

Perhaps it was a saner time when such an accusation required at least a shred of proof before someone's career/reputation could be completely ruined? |

Well apparently she showed pictures of her bald head where her hair used to be, that's why the PFA was granted by the court. Fitz's Dad works in NFL media, his buddies in the media didn't want to be put in a tough spot. The ONLY reason locals here think Fitz's is this great guy is because he dominated at PITT. |
