Unfortunately Youtube terminated your account. Please don't give up. Like others have said, maybe consider torrents?

I think he meant McCartney, not you, McMillen.
I'm sad that McCartney's gone for now, but it was his own fault up to a point. He knew he was getting copyright violation notices from the NHL for putting up old Penguins games, yet he did it anyway. He could have stuck to the Steelers, Pitt and the Pirates and been okay for at least a while longer. (Sorry for addressing the owner of this site by his last name. I was doing it to differentiate between the Tims, not as a sign of disrespect.) |

Whatever methods you use, I'm all for it. It simply makes no sense for the NFL to censor their own content, and everyone ought to resist it. Like Garrett Garlits said earlier in this thread, maybe just keep uploading to Youtube with new accounts until they leave you alone.

I feel bad for not visiting your site in 2 months and now noticing this. I loved your videos not just for the great Steeler games but as a TV nostalgia junkie, the commercials and station IDs from Channels 2, 4, and 11, and the pre and post game shows. The NFL may upload games on their YouTube channel but it's even better seeing all of the pregame, postgame, and commercials to go with it. Hopefully you find another way to upload the videos.

For those who want to know, Tim McCartney's YouTube page is back, but he won't be uploading any more Steeler games to avoid trouble with the NFL. He has plenty of other good stuff, though, including some super rare Penguins footage with the likes of Bob Prince and Lanny Frattare calling the action. For football fans, he has some Maulers games from 1984, including video/audio merges with Sam Nover and an inexperienced Jack Ham on WAMO. Add all that to some Pirates and Pitt football and it's still a page worth checking out.
A question for our host: If/when you get back to uploading games, could you ask McCartney to send any Steeler audio/video merges he may have directly to you? I'd still love to hear some of them; the ones he had on his old page were fascinating.

IMHO...the NFL, since Rozelle retired in 1989, has become one of those corporations that just cares about money, nothing else. They are trying to "promote" their current product to more and more people that know nothing about real football. All these rule changes to soften the game to an unrecognizable sport! Watch the 1984 Raiders at Bears game. Both starting quarterbacks had to leave the game. Marc Wilson knocked out twice, a concussion and a broken thumb, Jim McMahon a lacerated kidney! Mike Ditka called it "the most brutal football game I've ever watched". The NFL is terrified about concussions, we all know that. It's been an issue for who-knows how long? How many players from that game would be ejected in today's NFL? So, rather than allow their old games being uploaded for people to watch, they would rather take them away to clean up their image!!!
BUT, Thanks to Tim for uploading all these terrific games! It is a shame that all of his heart and work is ruined. We all appreciate your site!

Hey Tim, I came across a Youtube channel named Bart Simpson who also posts NFL videos. Someone in the comments asked him to upload the '04 Colts-Broncos Wild Card, and he replied, "yep, i have that one, but it was blocked on YouTube, so i had to post it elsewhere: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YZHoB3E...sp=sharing"
Maybe you can upload to Google Drive? |

Ultimately, that will be my path of last resort. What I want to do is host the games in a way they can be viewed online in real time. I travel from time to time and I used to watch games from this site on the road all the time rather than having to keep them on my laptop. I liked being able to watch a little of this, watch a little of that, go to a certain great play, etc. You can't do that with downloads. Regardless, I absolutely WILL make these game available again. My plan is to get thing up and running again -- in some form -- before the season starts. Just very busy with work and life right now. Beautiful grandchild, Tim. Congratulations!
I'd much rather click than download, too. I don't want all of the memory on my computer cluttered with Steeler games, especially since you host so many. |

Hey Tim, just checking back in to see if you've found a way to upload the games again. Another user suggested a few days ago some alternative sites: http://s675307413.onlinehome.us/showthread.php?tid=1640
If you haven't been able to upload the games, then the last resort of allowing the games to be downloaded is still an option! |
