Great value here, needed another back in the stable. Again Steelers go for the NFL pedigree bloodlines, Snell's Dad and Great Uncle played in the NFL. Now let's get a TE.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have selected Kentucky running back Benny Snell Jr. in the fourth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft. It was the 122nd pick overall in this year’s draft.

At the scouting combine this year, Snell measured i at 5103, 224-pounds with 31-inch arms and 9 3/8-inch hands. he ran his 40-yard dash in 4.66-seconds, did 16 reps on the bench and posted a vertical jump of 29.5-inches and a broad jump of 9’11”.

At Kentucky, Snell rushed for 3,873 yards and 48 touchdowns on 737 total carries. He also caught 29 passes for 216 yards. He now holds the Kentucky record for career rushing yards (3,873), total TDs (48), rushing TDs (48) and 100-yard games (19).

Snell’s father, Ben Sr, starred at Ohio Northern, rushing for over 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns. The Baltimore Ravens signed him as a UDFA in 1998, sending him to NFL Europe and then taken by the XFL’s Las Vegas Outlaws in 2000. Snell’s great uncle, Matt Snell, had the most prolific career of the family. Another running back, Matt Snell was drafted 3rd overall by the New York Jets in 1964. He immediately led the team in rushing but his biggest performance came in 1968, Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts.
