1981 Steelers 10 at Dolphins 30

Rough game. Even rougher video quality, plus severely edited huddles. If anyone has an upgrade of this game, please let me know! Bradshaw takes a physical beating all evening with very little time from the O-line. The Steelers keep pace early, trailing 13-10 at halftime. But ill-timed penlties, porous run defense and poor special teams doom the Steelers, who give up a back-breaking 87-yard punt return to ice the game. Forced into desperation passes, Bradshaw throws a final pick and that's all she wrote. Ugly, ugly game. A special thanks to "SteelBuck 6" for providing this video.

Tim, do you have the '89 Steelers/Dolphins game by chance? My brother and I went to that game and I'd love to watch it again. It was 90+ degrees and very humid during the first quarter and we were down 14-0 then it got dark out, the sky opened up and down poured the rest of the game and we dominated winning 34-14.
Hoge had a pretty good game and the defense played great also.

Sorry, I don't. I have almost nothing from '89.

This was actually a Thursday night special, back in the days when ABC only ran Thursday and Sunday night games a combined total of four games a year.

As for games from 1989, they're out there somewhere. I have the entire season in my personal collection, but I'm not sure if the guy I got them from trades anymore, or is even still on the web. (Sorry, I don't trade myself either, especially playoff seasons. I'll be happy to let you know if I run across them on other websites, though.)

Tim,

Just to let you know, the '81 season opener against the Chiefs is out there somewhere. I remember seeing the game on YouTube a few years back.

Also, I saw a version of the Week 7 game against the Bengals that was edited down to about half an hour (put up by a Bengals fan, I believe). I didn't see Week 15, but he may not have had time to put it up before his account got whacked.

Finally, someone on a message board I post at said that he'd either seen or owned (not sure which) a copy of the Week 10 game at Seattle. This was the game where Cliff Stoudt literally became a (mechanical) cowpuncher afterward, which resulted in him breaking his wrist and being gone for the year. One interesting sidelight is that it was the only time that Rocky Bleier ever did color for a Steeler game on NBC. His partner, I believe, was Jay Randolph.

Also the game where I believe the Chief's wife died, or maybe Dan Rooney's daughter, I'd have to get his book out.

Craig Wolfley had a penalty which wiped out a Franco TD catch on a dump off which may have sealed the game.

So we're apparently still missing the following for the '81 season:

Week 5 at New Orleans (which may be lost for good)
Week 7 at Cincinnati (as I said above)
Week 12 at Cleveland (which exists; a short clip of the very beginning of the telecast is on the tail end of the Atlanta game)
Week 15 vs. Cincinnati
Week 16 at Houston

Frank "The Giff" Gifford, "Dandy" Don Meredith, Howard Cosell called this Steelers/Dolphins clash from 1981. I hope somebody has the better video quality of this one.

It does kinda make the eyes water, doesn't it?  Laugh   Still... I'd rather have a poor recording than no recording at all.
