Which is the greater loss

Munchak, Bell or Brown?  My view is Brown short term and Munchak long term.  Bell is almost not relevant.  If you add in locker room/team disruption it's Munchak by a landslide.  

I'm bored.  Maybe you guys are as well.  So I tried to start a topic.

Shaun Sarrett was Munchak's assistant last season so the line won't skip a beat. We won't see much difference with the veteran group we have on the line for the next couple seasons but when youth gets sprinkled in then we shall see. 
Great advantage with having an offensive line that have grown together for many seasons already is that they are able to take the knowledge they learned from Munch and pass it on down to the younger guys.

The huge "but" is if/when one of the veteran starters gets injured. IMHO Munchak's greatest contribution the past few years was his ability to prepare one of the young back-ups to step in and play at an acceptable or better level when one or more of the veterans missed time (see Hubbard, Feiler, Finney... et al.)

Munchak had a skill for bringing along late round and undrafted guys and turning them into starting material or even viable backups.
Interesting how well our old pal Chris Hubbard fared after he went to the Browns, don't ya think?
With any luck Shaun Sarrett paid close attention during his time under Munchak.

I strongly disagree with the statement about Bell being irrelevant.
He most certainly wasn't irrelevant last year!
Bell produced more yards from scrimmage and first downs during his tenure than most any other player in the league.
You don't just lose that and not feel it!
Without Bell our rushing attack dropped to the bottom 5 of the league.
Say what you want, but if you're asking me, top brass screwed the pooch on the LeVeon Bell contract.
All that they needed to do was put the Non-Exclusive tag on him and let he and his agent go out and get his market value.
If another team made an offer that the Steelers were unwilling to match, they would have been comped 2 first round picks for him.
Instead they Exclusive Tagged him and held him hostage.
Bell's agent didn't do him any favors either, granted, but the fact that they gave Tuitt the contract that he got and couldn't find a way to keep Bell is a travesty.

Sure, Conner stepped up nicely, but he also saw much less success in the second half of the season after teams figured him out and started gameplanning for him instead of Bell.
Conner is going to need to step up his game in pass blocking and receiving out of the backfield and most importantly PROTECT THE BALL BETTER! 4 fumbles is TOO many!
Tomlin may also be forced to do something that he's been too freaking stubborn to do in the past and sub in fresh legs at RB!
RB by committee isn't just an idea at this point, it's a necessity! You've got 2 Power Backs in Conner and Snell now to bludgeon teams to death with and a Utility back in Samuels who proved he can be effective in both the run and pass games last year.
They would be downright stupid not to utilize those weapons to their fullest potential.

Brown's loss will also be felt.
Cancer removed and distraction gone, notwithstanding, it's still not easy to lose arguably the league's best talent at WR.
JuJu is going to see a lot of double teams this year with Brown gone.
Which means that guys like Moncrief, Switzer, and Washington are going to see more targets.

All-in-all, this changing of the guard on offense seems to signal a change back to traditional Steelers style football where a power running game will once again be featured and the passing game will take a little more of a backseat.

Munchak. Isn't he the last of the former Head Coaches on Tomlin's Staff? I forget how many were there at one time.., Labaeu, Haley, Munchak. Wasn't there another? I wondered if Mr Rooney wasn't hiring these guys to help cover Tomlin.

You know, instead of wallowing and bellowing about what we lost, Look at what we got. This is still a dang good football team. We have the best Qb in the division, the best OL, probably the best deepest backfield. The defense should be improved with the addition of Barrón, and Bush, and a great bunch of rookies shoring up the special teams. I even look for the return of the Wizard of Box returning to form.

We may not win it all but come September, this will be a team to be reckoned with.

I agree. I am really hopeful that this team is vastly improved by losing the twin ass hats. I am not confident that Tomlin can change and become the leader who will step in and minimize distractions, my belief is that Player/Leaders will keep the focus on the field and chasing a championship. I can't really explain it, but I really think this is the team that will really embrace their Steeler Heritage and make us all proud of how they play and conduct themselves.

I only have two gripes with Tomlin, one, challenges. Abysmal at best. The second is he expects his men to act like men, not like spoiled adolescent juveniles they may be, and as far as I can see, doesn’t put the fear of his wrath in them. 

This business of allowing players “keeping it real” is causing a lot of yapping when in reality they haven’t done squat do be allowed that latitude. 

As far as Ben’s ownership mentality, at this point in a career as a franchise the QB is a coach on the field. Anybody complain about Unitas who was exactly the same? Layne? I can list a lot more, but I think the point is made. 

This is total BS. Over the years I’ve had to deal lots of sobs in my life, and it’s not Ben’s job to impress fellow players with being nice. The deal is you earn respect. Bone head moves like, smoking weed, having children with multiple parters, showing a general  lack of respect for anybody or anything else in their life other than themselves just might be  an indication Bell and Brown should be looking in the mirror and spending less time posting on social media.

Exactly. Ben is a mature, married adult man. He's a husband and father of 3 children (all from the same mother, all born in wedlock). Frankly, I'd be more than a little concerned if Ben, at this stage of his life, was finding it easy to bond at a high level with guys like Bell and Brown. 

They're babies. Spoiled ones with zero accountability, who can't take direction and who now need a scapegoat for their own fuck-ups. 

So, so, SOOOOO glad they're gone. So glad. So... glad...
