Got back from Charleston in time to see it at my local tavern. Watched with a bunch of fans. I don't think I can ever recall the team losing after forcing 5 turnovers but, then again, my memory has faded after 74 years.
What I saw leads me to believe we may have given up too much to Miami. This team looks capable of "earning" a top 5 draft slot. If that's the case we most likely made a very poor decision. If, however, we finish 7-9 or even 6-10 the deal might not look so bad. I've had too much "fun" to really comment on the gist of the game beyond the turnovers, including Conner's at the end, so I'll just wait to read what those who watched without beer glasses can offer. The only bright side I can see so far is we may finally, and not so sadly, see the end of Tomlin. It looks like it's going to be a long winter for my family in the Burgh but my family in Marin County is likely smiling right now. |

I hate to break it to you, Sand, but Ben going down ensures Tomlin's safety. He'll get a pass for whatever happens because, after all, he lost Ben to injury. I've said it before, I'll say it again: It is now a season without expectation. So Tomlin won't be held accountable for anything that happens. And if we manage to avoid a losing season, he will strengthen his "hero" status with ownership and NFL punditry. Never mind that the decline of this once-great organization rests squarely on his shoulders (though not his shoulders alone). Ben going down was hitting the career-saving lottery for Tomlin. The guy has never had a losing season, after all. ![]() |

And I agree this is a pass year for Tomlin. he could go 0-16 and all he has to say is I lost Ben for the season.
