My vision is not crystal clear but I seem to recall this team placing very high value on draft choices in the past. That seemed to be a workable and productive strategy. What surprises me now is that, considering the team is much more likely to be drafting in the top end for the next draft or two rather than bottom, this strategy seems to have been thrown aside.
Maybe Tomlin can find a way to salvage a non losing season again. That's going to be a bit tougher without a HOF QB and a WR and RB who performed at or near the top of their positions in the league. However, is a non losing season the new standard? If so, how far has the team slipped under his leadership? To an unacceptable level in my view. I hope both trades work to the team's advantage but if the season continues to slip away I also hope the front office and ownership think about dumping some seasoned players for draft choices and thereby beginning what would be a rebuilding process. That's not something they have done. It's been mostly reloading rather than rebuilding but the times they are a changing. If they drop 2 of the next 3 games I feel the time has come to pull a few plugs. For now I hope they can win the next 3, go on a streak, and make the playoffs. Something that used to be almost taken for granted but missing recently. |

So if you look at it, we traded Dobbs for a tight end. He reminds me of a quicker Jesse James.
I like this trade. Grimble was not and has not cut it and this guy can produce. Extra safety valve for Mason. |

Good move, I hope they can extend him. Any time you can trade a round 5 pick for a young proven player it's a no-brainer. Especially how we've drafted the past few years.
