The Pittsburgh Steelers have released safety Kameron Kelly, signing safety Marcus Allen in a corresponding move. The team announced the news moments ago.

The transaction comes on the heels of Kelly’s Friday morning arrest. He is being charged with making terroristic threats and resisting arrest. For a fringe player on the roster, it’s no surprise to see the team move on.

Kelly showed promise in the offseason and training camp but struggled in the regular season. He’s been on the bench for most of the year, only seeing work on special teams.

Allen spent his rookie year on the 53 man roster, seeing the biggest chunk of action against the Los Angeles Chargers. He failed to make the roster this year and had spent the entire season on the practice squad.
