1999 Steelers 15 vs Browns 16
Inconceivable. Inexplicable. Inexcusable. From the 1-8 expansion Browns' seemingly effortless 80-yd TD drive on their opening possession to Kordell's Stewart's awful, tide-turning 4th quarter INT -- right to a Browns defender deep in Pittsburgh territory -- this game is an utter embarrassment. Horrible offense, horrible defense, horrible coaching. Every bit of it sucks. Jerome Bettis is the lone bright spot with 99 yds rushing. But it takes him 26 tries and his longest run of the day is only 8 yds. If you're a Browns fan, enjoy. If you're a Steelers fans... have a barf bag handy. |

Tim,
Three questions: 1) I noticed that the 1998 Steelers-Chiefs game that you had listed as "in my collection but not yet converted" is now off your list altogether. Did you accidentally delete it from your list, or did something happen to your copy of the game? 2) I noticed that you haven't reuploaded the 2002 Steelers-Patriots game yet. I've watched it before and noticed the synch issues that your copy had. Is that the main reason you haven't put it back up? If it is, I can hardly blame you; the quality of the tape and the quality of the Steelers' play in that game is about equal. 3) Do you have plans to convert and/or upload any of your "Other Games" in the near future? There are a few non-Steeler games on that list that I'm looking forward to watching when they become available.

Not sure what happened to it... but I can't find it. (03-07-2020, 01:53 PM)Garrett Garlits Wrote: 2) I noticed that you haven't reuploaded the 2002 Steelers-Patriots game yet. I need to find a better version. Like you said, that game is brutal enough to watch wothout the sync issues. I need to get 2007, 2009 and 2010 completed as well. I need help with this. I've got recordings of some games from those seasons, but the quality is sub-par. For such recent games, I want the quality to be high and until I can get it, I'm not going to the trouble of uploading the games. Regarding the "other" games, what's at the top of your list? |

The higher-scoring offensive games like Colts-Patriots from '78, Oilers-Patriots from '80, and Raiders-Cowboys from '83 spring to mind. I've got all of the Super Bowls you have in my own collection, so there's no rush on those. In general, I'd like to see the older games first, since I don't remember most of them even if I was alive while they were being played.
Since you mentioned your VHS collection, did you find any games, especially Steelers games, that you didn't know you had? I've been going through a bunch of games from the eighties, and I've had a good time watching the team of the 90s take shape in '87 and '88. Even most of the losses aren't as bad as I remembered. (The less said about the '87 preseason game in Chicago, the better, though.)

The game tape is missing the second half kickoff. It picks up at the end of the first play from scrimmage.
After the game, there's a full Browns postgame show (called "the Fifth Quarter", just like the one WPXI in Pittsburgh used to do for the Steelers) preceded by bonus coverage of the Colts-Giants game.
