Man with the talent disparity you'd think they'd be working on a game 4 finisher here.  I just don't get what's wrong with this team.  They lose this game and it's katie bar the door.  Really thought since Nashville got in we'd be ok.  They are struggling mightily

Last six games with #72 on the 1st unit PP:

0 for 20.

Last six games without #72 on the 1st unit PP:

6 for 13.

They were up two games to zero, and had a 1-0 lead in Game 3, and had two PP chances. #72 was on the ice. They failed.

They've been outscored 9-1 since.

That's the difference.

Ok so if you know that why doesn't the coach?  I think they're done.  One of the biggest collapses against a not really great team ever.

You would have to ask him. Crosby also has influence on who plays the PP. And it's always been at least one of his wingers down low with him from day one. That's why Malkin rots away on the point every year.

It also limits what they can do on the PP when a non-skating,cement footed #72 is down there.

If they go four forwards? #59 has to replace #72. He's EARNED it.

If they go the Big 3 down low? Put #6 at the point with #4.

They can still win, but Sullivan has to quit fucking with Malkin and Kessel, leave them together, and make the changes I said on the power play.

I wouldn't say that with all their injuries. It's good they got this far.

Other one, replace Hainsey with Streit.

Boy, did they look crappy last night. If they play that bad in Nashville, all hope is gone.

so was the power play different in this game?  It was hard for me to tell.  Teams that lose by 6 plus goals are 3 - 0 in the next game.  We'll have to see if that holds.

Nope. #72 was on the first unit when they scored.

But he did reunite Kessel and Malkin, and their goal at the end of the 1st sent Rinne to the showers again.

Cool.  Ok Crash.  Let's see if they can bring it home even with all the injuries.  I am still uneasy about all that but they did hold home ice which is critical.  Would be good to see another cup brought back.  I'll have to check the PP Sunday night.  Thanks for the discussion

I don't believe for a minute when players say they don't read social media.

Hainsey was outstanding last night. By far the best game he's played since we traded for him.

He was good.  It would be nice to finish this Sunday night.  Would be great to see the Pred fans have to put up with the cup being given to the Pens on their ice

Well well. They did it. The refs did everything they could to make up that quick whistle call. Nice game gentlemen and way to overcome a lot of injuries. Nice.

Too bad about that quick whistle. Kind of puts a taint on it this win. I don't think the Predators would have escaped the game 7th in the the Burgh with the cup. Way to go Pens. Thumbsup

We could be waiting a 100 years for the Pirates to win another. I think I'll be long dead before that happens

I agree. You and me both. It's obvious ownership is in it for the long term capital gain, not championships. They have had the best drafts for the last ten years, one of the best stocked farm systems, and they are still putting out a crap product. Wake me up when Nutting breaks down and lands a couple of big time FA, like a Bill Matlock impact type player. If I were Huntington, I'd be shopping Cutch and Cole to any club for a boatload of cast and some can't miss prospects . Of course, he wouldn't know one of those if it hit him twixt the lookers.

Hey, on a side bar, are you still doing volunteer work at the Arlington Cemetary?

I"m not sure what I'm going to do this year.  I've started my own company so I don't know yet.  I've been there for like 15 straight years

Just a couple of items: Thanks for your service all these years at Arlington. It's beautiful; Second, congrats on the new business. I've been self employed for most of my working life. Just about every corporation I've worked for was a never ending series of pay cuts, and or more work for the same pay; And finally, my lawn still sucks...LOL!! Have a good one.
