"The Packers organization was shocked to see the video that showed police shooting Jacob Blake multiple times in the back," the statement read. "We are hopeful Jacob makes a full recovery, and our thoughts are with his family.  While we understand a full investigation of this terrible incident will take place, we are deeply troubled at what again has become a painful example of the significant challenges we face with respect to police brutality, systemic racism and injustices against Black people. We continue to call for meaningful dialogue to affect the needed change we all desire."

The Packers were 'deeply troubled'..... by an edited online video showing a small portion of an incident already in progress.  No investigation, no official release of the circumstances.   One video without context.   This was enough to assemble a communication team, a review by legal, and an official release, funneled through NFL.com.

Matt LaFleur and quarterback Aaron Rodgers addressed the media after Monday's practice and revealed that the team's leadership council had met to discuss the shooting, which occurred in the Wisconsin city roughly 150 miles south of Green Bay.

I searched the news.  I searched the Packers site.  I reviewed Aaron Rogers social media.  There's no mention whatsoever of the Packers being 'troubled' or even 'mildly inconvenienced when Dalquavis Ward killed officer John Hetland in Racine last June.  The 'team's leadership council' didn't bat an eye after the fatal shooting of Officer and former Marine Matthew Rittner last February.

What exactly is the fucking, "meaningful dialogue" the GREEN BAY PACKERS want to have "to affect the needed change we all desire"???
What do the GREEN BAY PACKERS feel is the "change we all desire"?   After all, this is a GREEN BAY PACKERS press release.

LaFleur said in his opening post-practice remarks before taking any questions. "The social injustice, the police brutality, the antiquated laws, (we've) just got to bring awareness to everybody that black lives matter. We can't stand for this any longer."

AMAZING! Not only a head coach in the NFL, but also a forensic scientist, crime scene investigator, criminologist, psychiatrist, and an attorney who can adjudicate an incident from a 25-second video!!!  Count me as impressed.  I'd hate to think that the most storied franchise in the National Football League was placating one particular race and providing attention and lip service to their players in an attempt to show how 'woke' they were to identity politics and trying to say the right things in order to keep business going, while simultaneously slandering, belittling, and outright disrespecting the officers who provide them personal protection.   No, of course that's not happening.  If it was, people might see through that bullshit and see how much of a broken, self-serving, and fucking insulting move that would be.   People might finally reach the point of being flat disgusted.  People might say, "Fuck Matt LaFleur".  Might say, "Fuck Aaron Rogers".  Might even say, "Fuck the NFL"

I really don't listen to opinions or feelings expressed by athletes, celebs, etc. I understand they are entitled to an opinion but they hold no influence over me.

The idea that black lives matter more than public safety and public/personal property does not register with me. It's unfortunate when men or women are slain or harmed. I am deeply troubled by those acts. However, more so when those harmed are law abiding citizens. I have little compassion for a felon who resists arrest. I believe many of these shootings could be avoided or eliminated if the miscreant would just obey the commands of the officers. I know I would or will if ever placed in that situation.

We have a couple of options in America. One is the rule of law. The other is mob rule. The latter if playing out in full view of America. I realize some liberal media sites may still be suggesting these "protests" are peaceful but that "truth" will not overshadow the "fact" that blood is being shed and property destroyed. It seems some segments of our society are not patient enough to allow the rule of law, a process that has served our Nation and society quite well, to play out in these "questionable" shootings. That's truly sad.

I will always be on the side of the police in these confrontations. I realize all police personnel are not perfect but that holds true for the miscreants as well. At least the police personnel have sworn to do a duty that benefits our society. The miscreants and felons, well they seem to have sworn to do as much damage as possible.

The lack of protection for law abiding citizens in those cities that have been set aflame is abhorrent. Elected officials in those cities should be moved out of office as quickly as legally possible. Elected officials who continue to pander to the mob should be treated in the same fashion.

I do believe that the governors and mayors of these states and cities that are allowing these "peaceful protests" to occur do share some culpability and/ or liability. They do not own these buildings, statues, cars, SUVs, businesses, etc. but are allowing them to be destroyed, along with people's lives and livelihoods.

When and how will it end? I do not know, but hopefully peacefully and soon.

I’m am flummoxed over the lack of outrage by elected officials over this violence, not from the police, but by their constituents. If this idiot had stopped when ordered, dropped his knife, not continued to his car to get his gun, he’d still be alive today. Why is this so hard to communicate?

These thugs should not get a free pass because of their race. It seems like they feel these malcontents have a right to shoot up the town. When elected officials undercut the authority of the rule of law, all hell will break loose, and that is exactly what we are seeing.

Remember this when you vote. Better yet, make sure your votes counts by being an educated voter.

Agree with every posted but he is still alive. Reports he may be paralyzed. I feel bad but  you are 100% correct, not only did he have a knife he definitely was going into his car under the seat to retrieve something. It's a shame the governor won't allow the truth to be told as to what they found in the car. Saddest part his 3 young children were in the backseat. He had no regards for their safety.

What is equally disturbing it that people think the Police are the cause incidents like this. I guess we can thank the national media for that.

There is no waiting for facts anymore. We don't know why or what he was reaching for in his car. Perhaps a loaded pistol? What is he pulls it out and randomly starts firing? Maybe he, the policeman, and his 3 kids in the back seat are no victims. We just don't know, we need to wait for the facts.

Titans' Ryan Tannehill: US 'was founded upon racist ideas'

Teetering at the moment. Another shoe falls and it's to hell with the NFL.

I'm already there.  I don't give two sh**s about the NFL  MLB or NBA.   Course anyone league that has that dimwit James speaking for them is not worthy of any notice at all

Well, since this is now a "football topic" - I'll update:

Blake was struggling with the officers before the shooting, and two separate officers discharged Tasers at Blake, but the Tasers failed to subdue him. Video also captured Blake struggling with the officers as they tried to arrest him, but Blake was able to break free. Video then showed Blake, with what may have been a knife in his hand, walk around the SUV, open the driver’s side door, and move towards the interior of the automobile. (The knife was later recorded on the floor of the SUV.)

While Blake advanced toward the automobile, the officers appear to have been shouting for him to drop the knife. As Blake moved to get inside the SUV, one officer held his shirt and then fired seven shots. Blake’s three children were inside of the SUV, and according to the children’s mother, Laquisha Booker, the officers knew “they were in there because I kept screaming that.”

These facts make clear that the officer’s shooting of Blake was justified for two independent reasons. First, courts recognize that “deadly force is presumptively reasonable” when an “officer could reasonably have interpreted the suspect’s movement as ‘reaching for a weapon.’”

When Blake ignored the officers’ commands and instead opened the SUV and leaned in with his upper body, the officers could reasonably have believed Blake was going for a gun, justifying the use of deadly force. As a legal matter, that the officer shot Blake seven times, and not once or twice, is irrelevant because the fact that “multiple shots were fired does not suggest the officers shot mindlessly as much as it indicates that they sought to ensure the elimination of a deadly threat.”

Someone tell the Packers....and the Lions....and the Titans.....and....
