Heyward signs a new five-year contract
Cameron Heyward is a pillar of the Steelers defense, a stabilizing force who has earned a role as a defensive captain through the years for a reason. It's because he does things the right way, both on and off the field. And he will continue to do those things in Pittsburgh through 2024 after signing a new five-year contract. |

Well worth it, he deserves it. Glad it got done. Much like James Farrior and Aaron Smith a true leader and unsung hero. You don't miss them until they're gone.
Cam Heyward’s not leaving. That’s what he tweeted out Sunday evening followed up by Jeremy Fowler’s report the Steelers’ captain and leader has inked a four year, $71.4 million deal, keeping him in Pittsburgh for likely the rest of his career. Heyward, 31, has become one of the best defensive linemen in football. Drafted in the first round in 2011, he’s started 99 games, racking up 54 sacks and six forced fumbles. He’s a three-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro and fan favorite in Pittsburgh. Developing story. Read more: https://steelersdepot.com/2020/09/fowler...extension/ Next - Minkah, #39! ![]() |

+1 I wonder how much of this contract gets kicked down the road sal cap wise to sign other players. There are more than a few that are going to have their hand out this off season.
