4th and goal from inside the 10. Down 8. Kicked the field goal hoping they could stop Bracy and score a TD. Even though they had 3 timeouts that was a long shot in my view.

I'd have tried for the TD one more time. If it fails you at least have them pinned, with 3 time outs, and have a decent chance at getting the ball back around your 40. That give you 2 shots for the tie instead on 1.

I'm not sure what the odds are. I just feel giving the ball back to Brady was a mistake. I'd rather roll with my HOF qb.

You forgot to mention that when this happened there was only a little over 2 minutes left in the game.

This stuff baffles me. There is a time and place for "playing the odds," I suppose. 

Trailing late in a playoff game isn't it.  Especially against a QB who has already been to the Super Bowl 9 friggin' times. 

So, I have a question about the AFC Championship game : Why in the hell did Buffalo go for 2 in the 4th quarter? Instead of kicking the extra point and trailing by 2 scores (16 points), they went for 2 and failed, thus trailing by 3 scores (17 points). 

Sean McDermott needs to immediately enroll in a remedial math class. It's unlikely they were going to win, but he ensured they wouldn't.

So when they recovered the ensuing onside kick (which almost NEVER happens anymore), it literally meant nothing, because they were still down by 3 scores.

Am I missing something here???

No, I was doing the math in my head as well. Going for 2 points at that time made zero sense. You kick the extra point and make it a 2 position game (16 points).
