the 2015 and the 2016 drafts were horrible.  Artie Burns was number one in 2016 and we know what happened to him.  Not a single player is left on the team from the draft.

I dunno across those two year we got some burn from a few, Dupree, Hardgrave, are pretty good player that we just couldn’t afford to keep, not that they were bad draft picks. We also got some burn from Jesse James, Matekevitch, Chickalo and Sean Davis. Definitely serviceable players and while not top tier, not bums either.

They say if you land 2 players a draft that can contribute, it’s a successful draft. 2015-2016 under that criteria were considered successful drafts. If they get hurt (Davis) get beaten out by a subsequent draft pick (Matekevitch), or they become unaffordable, (Dupree-Hardgrave), should not reflect negatively on the quality of the draft. JMO.

The biggest issue was spending 3 picks on CBs, none of whom panned out. That gap - along with Davis, though I can’t remember what other safeties were available - was created by not addressing the position seriously for years. Then we end up forced to pick.

They weren’t complete failures of drafts - Hargrave was good but under-used, Chickillo was serviceable and Coates was good before his hand mangled - but certainly not ones I’d like to see repeated
