24 years in the nfl.  Holds the record for most points scored.  When I was a kid there was a guy named George Blanda.  None of you guys will remember him but he was a QB  and a place kicker.  He played for 26 years.  Amazing two careers.

I sure remember Blanda from the old (I mean OLD) AFL days. Especially the awesome AFL championship game featuring a face off between former Steeler, the great Lenny Dawson vs Blanda.

Re: Vinitari

1st ballot hall of famer for sure.

While I of course know "of" George Blanda, I don't actually remember watching him in real time. He kicked for Oakland during the '74/'75 AFCC games and I know him in that capacity from re-watching those games as an adult, but I have no memory of those games as a kid with Super Bowl X being my first real memorable experience as a pro football (and from that moment on, Steelers) fan.

1949-1975 is ridiculous!  Scared

Can't believe I'm saying this about a kicker... but yep, first ballot HOFer. The longevity and stats are fine, but it's the moments he created that elevate him. All those absolutely clutch kicks in the biggest of games.

Yep. First ballot.

In 1970 He threw three TDs against the Steelers 4 extra points AND a field goal.  Raider 31   Steelers 14

Yes, I remember George Blanda.

Interesting note on Vinateri is that he is related to Evel Knevel. Cousins I think.

Congrats to him.

I used to date Adam Vinitari's Cousin. I had no Idea she was related until I went into her home and saw all the pictures with her family. I was like Wholly Crap! That's Adam Vinitari!

So, after seeing pictures of her with a dirt bag Patriot, I'm assuming you immediately left the premises and never called her again, right?  Laugh
