Still in disbelief.

I mean, I believe in Ben. And there are players like Najee, Cam, TF, Minkah, Freiermuth that you know are do their jobs. Diontae Johnson has been really good this year, too, despite the awful TD drop in the first half (for which he later redeemed himself).

But they were SO bad for 3 quarters. That first half was disgraceful. The Ravens just kept letting us hang around.

Great finish to an ugly, ugly game. This is one ugly win I'll gladly take any day.

By the way... the next time someone says Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season, can we please point out that -- coincidentally? -- Ben Roethlisberger has never had a losing season?

Another 4th quarter comeback by Ben.  I think that puts him in 3rd place all time.  My view is he's not and has not been the problem.  A decent OL would go a long way toward making this team truly competitive.

If they can't find the right QB in the draft I hope they go heavy OL and convince Ben to come back for one more year.  It's likely he doesn't need the cash but his ego might play a role since he's close to moving up vs Rivers and Marino, I think that's right, in some career stats.  He's had a great ride and, assuming no serious injuries, I think it's not yet over.

A lot of great defenses contributed to that record.

Yep. My point exactly.  Thumbsup

17 years Ben has been here... and 17 years, the Steelers have not had a losing season. That streak may end this year, although the win today makes me think it might happen an 18th time, as 2 more wins will preserve the streak.

Ben Roethlisberger is the primary reason, not Mike Tomlin. Yet the media -- who for whatever reason has never liked Ben -- always gives Tomlin the credit, despite the streak starting 3 years earlier with Ben's amazing rookie season, as Shyne points out.

Agreed 100%. For all the media love Lamar Jackson gets, if Ben was under center on that Ravens team behind that offensive line, I think they would be 10-2, maybe better. For all Lamar's talent, and despite a number of comeback wins this season, he's not a clutch QB. Big mistakes in big moments, every year. He wilts.

Ben doesn't wilt. Ever. Great leadership, great football smarts, and the same never-say-die heart he displayed as a rookie. More, actually, because he's been through it all now.

Easily the greatest Steeler of the last 32 years. We've had some great players during that time, but no single player has done more for this team than Ben since the likes of Bradshaw, Greene, Franco, Ham and Lambert retired. Not even close.

I'll be surprised if Ben doesn't come back. If he actually said these things, I can't help but wonder if he's giving these rumors oxygen as a way to give the team a sharper edge. Despite the awful start, they stepped up late and showed grit and pride late in this game that maybe wouldn't have been there if they weren't thinking "we need to do this for Ben" in the back of their minds?

I think the edge Bettis' impending retirement gave the team in '04 and '05 was the same thing; it elevated the team.

This win was really nice. I'll take it. I don't think it's in any way an indicator that this is a playoff team, and I don't for a moment think a Super Bowl run is in the realm of reality. But it was really flippin' nice to beat Baltimore. I didn't expect it, and I'm still smiling about it.

Congrats Ben, and congrats, Steelers.  Thumbsup
