On the site, Steeler Insider, there is an article written by Craig Wolfley entitled “The Case for Mason Rudolph”. This is a spot on assessment of not only Mason, but the Steeler’s current QB situation.
Let me know what you think. |

Rudolph's mediocrity at the pro level has apparent in his 10 starts. He doesn't have "it."
If I hear one more person say, "But he almost beat the Browns in that regular season finale..." ![]() BFD. Are we playing horseshoes now? No. I remember when our backups "almost" beat the San Diego starters in the '94 finale, too. Anyone recall how that turned out? Same effing scenario. Led to overconfidence in the rematch in both cases, IMO. If Rudolph HAD beaten the Browns in that game, then maybe we'd have something to talk about. Because the Browns would've sat home for the playoffs and we wouldn't have shown up thinking we'd already won, only to discover a legitimate but much hungrier opponent. Rudolph is a career backup at best. Glad we signed Trubisky, even though my expectations for him are fairly low. |
