Thoughts on Calvin Austin III… Is this Dri Archer all over again? We haven’t exactly hit any home runs with undersized speedy receivers. Wouldn’t this pick have been better spent on an o-lineman, decent cb (if there are any left) or maybe another SS?

This team seems to be enamored with small quick backs. None of which has panned out. Repeating the same pattern seems silly but once in a while it works. it did for KC but not many others.

He is WR, the closest he will be to a running back is when he is used on a jet sweep. Secondly, IMO his skills as a WR is far superior to Austin. |

The problem with Archer was he was a gimmick type of back. When he came into the game the defense "keyed" on him. He should very little chance of succeeding.
Austin is a WR and may do well, however, I am not sold on the Matt Canada college style offense succeeding in the NFL. Next - Minkah, #39! ![]()
