Playing with a diminished Ben Roethlisberger, Claypool displayed flashes of brilliance but was inconsistent through two seasons. After an impressive rookie campaign, he's coming off a 59-catch, 860-yards, two-TD second season.
Asked to give his prediction for the upcoming season, Claypool noted he's chasing 1,300 yards and 10-plus TDs. "When I'm working, I'm like, 'I'm a dog.' I'm gonna dog people that are lining up across from me, too," Claypool said. "And I've just got to bring that confidence and I've got to bring that spirit and I've just got to show people. And it's going to happen. And we're going to rewind this and we're going to see this clip in a little bit and they're going to be like, 'Damn, he was right.'" Listen, dog;
Be top 3 in keeping your damn mouth shut. |

I'm not much of a fan of Claypool. I had hopes he was maturing after the Vikings games last season but this post proves me wrong.

Why are fans calling out Chase Claypool for saying he's top 3 receiver? If he puts up numbers then he should

I called him out because:
- He hasn't put up numbers - He's barely top 3 on his team, let alone the NFL - He's shown an inability to attempt any catch without leaving his feet. The kid would jump and dive to catch an underhand tennis ball from a 5-year-old - Though he needs to work on his game, he persists to be all about image. Soon, it'll be about 'gettin paid'. He's more Mike Wallace than Hines Ward. The top 3 WR's of 2021 in receptions (Kupp, Adams, Hill) averaged 126.33 receptions Claypool caught 59; 67.33 less than the top 3 average The top 3 WR's of 2021 in yards (Kupp, Jefferson, Adams) averaged 1,705.33 receiving yards Claypool caught for 860 yards; 845.33 less than the top 3 average The top 3 WR's of 2021 in TDs (Kupp, Evans, Chase) averaged 14.33 receiving TD's Claypool caught 2; 12.33 less than the top 3 average The top 3 WR's of 2021 in yards-after-catch (Kupp, Samuel, Chase) averaged 759 receiving yards after catch Claypool (who can't stay on his feet) caught for 295; 464 less than the top 3 average The top 3 WR's of 2021 for 1st downs (Kupp, Adams, Andrews) averaged 82.66 1st down catches Claypool caught for 36; 46.66 less than the top 3 average Claypools BEST statistic, is Avg-Yards-Per-Catch: 14.6, which led the team ...but was 24th in the league Tell me something HE'S done to warrant "Top 3 NFL WR" comparisons? |

I general, most players would be much bette if they " let their play speak so loudly you can't hear what they are saying" .. Chuck Noll.. Maybe out of context, but I think it fits in this case. |
