Well, as we go through this reset, I'd like everyone to please keep in mind that it's not our place to "expose" other people here, Hoos. There will be a much shorter leash on that kind of nonsense than in the past. If people wanna talk trash, they can go back to the "members only" FB page and do it there (although you guys should know it's not nearly as "private" as some of you think it is; word travels fast when you back stab folks that are supposed to be your friends). Pastrami probably wasn't the right guy to have moderate; I didn't realize there was such bad blood between folks when I made that move, so I'll take responsibility for that. But the way it escalated and the awful things that were said about him and his family went too far. WAY too far. Nobody deserves that.

In any case, it won't fly here. I don't mean to finger wag, but it's always bothered me the way the "family" environment that we had here (most of the time) for a good 15 years suddenly deteriorated so badly. I won't let that happen again.

Just putting it out there so there are no surprises moving forward.

Quiet Man is my all-time favorite movie - I just downloaded a (free) perfect re-mastered version of it.  All the other ones I tried were horrible quality.

Another great line is where Maureen O'Hara flips the potato onto her brother's little suck up pal's plate and screeches at him, "You little squint!"

Little Squint!! Loved it!! And the guy was such a weasel. Great cast, and such a wonderful screen play. By the way, do you know how much crap they went through to get that film off the ground? Nobody wanted to produce it. Remastered original?  I haven't gone that far, but when it turns up on the Turner Classic Movie app, I never miss it.

Before I forget, thanks for your service in the Corps. It was important! My oldest is on loan to US TransCom prepping security briefs, the other is on his "B" Billet as a recruiter, but his MOS is a bassist in the Marine Crops fleet bands program.

I am very thankful for the whim that lead to me joining the USMC. Sent a 'magazine' flyer in to the Navy Recruiter and one to the Marines. Marines called back...I was never the same. I remember sitting at a keg party my Dad threw for me when I was on 2 weeks of leave after Parris Island.
He looked dead in the eye and said "You were always a Marine"....still not sure how to take that. lol

Pretty sure everybody knows I'm New Regime...I chose that handle back when I 1st joined here because Tomlin was the new coach and the Steelers were starting a "NEW REGIME"...It' doesn't really seem to fit anymore.I don't care if I'm still referred to as Regime,I just chose Shuttle Bus 60 because of my job and age...Thought I'd throw that out there,a little late but I move a lot slower these days...

Taking some fella's from work soon, they are looking forward to it.Plenty of woods here in Emory..

Snipe hunt
A North-American prank and rite of passage wherein older adolescents take younger boys into the wilderness for the supposed purpose of “snipe hunting.” Snipes are an imaginary game bird purported to resemble quails or pheasants or what have you (the fictional snipe is not to be confused with the extant North American shorebird of that same name). Snipe hunts take place on moonless nights; the victims are provided burlap bags with which to catch the birds, while the conspirators spot them with flashlights. The conspirators make birdcalls, through rocks in the bushes, and urgently cry out “snipe” to make the victims believe that there are actually birds in the area. The victims don’t want to be the only one who can’t see the imaginary birds, so they claim to have seen them also. Pretty soon the victims have convinced each other they are surrounded by snipes and proceed to run about foolishly in search of the non-existent birds. “Dude right there didn’t you see it?” The conspirators will often agree that they have just seen a snipe in that cactus patch or lake or thorny bush and order then the victims to dive in and catch it with his respective sack. The victims are then often abandoned by their guides, thus completing the joke. The cycle repeats when this year’s dupes become privy to the joke and then take their younger brothers out the following year, in search of the ever-illusive snipe.

It was a rite of passage in the Boy Scouts. The same for the left handed smoke shifter.

Yes,  I remember that post from Tommy G too.  Snatched it by hand and then released it as he did not want to upset his hunting partner the Pope.  Tommy dubbed the ferocious beast, "Flacco."  I found this photo on his MySpace Page:
