Maybe a classic trap game for the Steelers.  We seem to have one or two every season.  However, the Ravens are up next and it seems to be more important to give Tuitt an extra week to be fully healed and ready to go.  I'm for sitting him.  Thoughts?

Agreed, I think Tuitt sits, at least for another week. I want him full strength through the back half of the schedule, which gets pretty tough starting in October.

tired of hearing about classic trap games for the Steelers. How about they get prepared and Ben steps up on the road? And yes I'm criticizing our hall of fame QB. He lays some tremendous eggs on the road. maybe it's Haley maybe it's not but for whatever reason I'm tired of hearing how we play down to the competition. How about we destroy a terrible team on the road just once?

One problem with road performance is likely communication. It's much tougher to adjust at the line when the noise factor works against you. I have faith that Ben can make the right decisions. He seems to do pretty well with the no huddle offense and that gives me confidence he knows how and should be able to do the job despite the noise. Why he does not measure up most of the time is puzzling.

The passion of the home crowd plays a role but getting out of the box quicker and up a score or two can mitigate that factor. Our defense seems to have improved over last year, we have to face some top quality qb's to be certain, so taking a more aggressive position on offense at the onset of games seems to be prudent.

I'm not certain our road failures are placed at the foot of Ben, Haley or Tomlin or all the above. I think the latter is the most likely scenario. Except in the case with the Pats. Tomlin seems totally over matched in that arena. Ben will be in the HOF. Don't know about the other two. For now I'm happy we have had more than a decade of very good to outstanding performance from Ben for the most part. It's fun to relax, use the remote to avoid commercials and watch the season play out.

I didn't say never.  There is a history with Ben playing horribly on the road.  I have no clue what it is.  But the stats on scoring on the road are there for everyone to see and it is a concern.  How about that game last year in Foxboro?  I love Ben. But he has had issues in the past on the road.

All these road woes started in 2012.

Who showed up?

Ben wasn't the problem vs. New England, rollers. He played a pretty decent game (in spite of losing Le'Veon Bell early). The problem was that Tom Brady scored every flippin' time the Patriots touched the ball. If the defense had put up ANY kind of fight, we're in that game.

If anything, there's a systematic issue. Or more accurately, a communication issue. Ben's home vs. road QB ratings were virtually identical before Haley. There are lots of reads in Haley's system. QB and WR's have to be on the same page and being on the road disrupts communication.

look I get that.  I think it does go back to Haley.  There are teams that seem to be able to solve that communication issue.  it gets frustrating to see this offense flailing around and going nowhere with all those weapons.  we could have the two worst co-ordinators in all of football.  I want them to go on the road and blow this crappy team out from quarter 1.  Screw those empty sets.  Villanueva is allowing way to much pressure and a back may be needed to help some.  Stop bombing it down field into double coverage when Miller is running free with no one within 20 yards of him.  He CONTINUALLY misses that in his reads.  I don't know why.  I just want Ben to put this team on his shoulders and carry it like Brady, and Farve, and some others that have or had that ability.  Ok I'm done griping.  for a bit

Just like I tweeted, watch when Haley takes #10 off the field in red zone to run his BS.

I said that BEFORE the season.

And he did exactly that on Sunday in the second half.

He can't help himself.

This is a big game for Bell... I predict 160 rushing > Bears defense sucks!

I'd sit Tuitt and Watt this week.
