Seriously? A 15-yard penalty on Bell for having a little fun shadow boxing with the padding around the goal post?

NFL Rules Committee, you stupid bunch of old, no fun F#$@'s. Bite me.  Pi_supermad Thumbdown

Seriously... I see stupid shit like that "unsportsmanlike conduct" call on Bell for behavior that was in NO WAY "unsportsmanlike"... I just want to quit the NFL. THat kind of celebration isn't disrespectful, it doesn't disrupt the game, it's doesn't hurt anybody... yet they make it a penalty as costly as a REAL personal foul like a cheap shot or a late hit.

The people running this league are F-ing stupid. Morons. And shame on the asshole official who actually threw the flag.  Pi_supermad

I don't know how much I can keep watching this crap.

But they aren’t offensive giving our country the big social finger during OUR nation anthem.... nothing like a little hypocracy to make my weekend....

Cry all you want, but they made a specific rule saying that players can't use props other than the ball in celebrations. Bell broke that rule, so he deserved the penalty. Not only that, but his heavy-bag routine looked utterly ridiculous.

I kind of wish they'd go back to the "no celebrations of any kind" rule, to be honest. Players aren't expressing spontaneous joy, they're putting on Broadway shows that are choreographed and rehearsed. They're even practicing them at the team facilities, for heaven's sake. If the sheer act of scoring a touchdown or making a tankle for your team in and of itself doesn't satisfy you as a player, you may just be in the wrong profession.

Cry all you want, but they made a law: 36 U.S. Code § 301 - National anthem

(b)Conduct During Playing.—During a rendition of the national anthem—

© all other persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart;

Tom Landry started all this shit when the Dennis Thurman got caught in the Fun Bunch's routine.

But Bell broke the rule. Very specific.

Bell broke the rule, I agree. But this is the same NFL that allows player (OBJ) to pretend to urinate like a dog after a TD.

Sorry, I don't have to watch this garbage.

Actually they didn't. OBJ got fined by the NFL.

The point is he still did it. This league is becoming garbage.

Cry all you want again, but the NFL is choosing not to enforce the anthem law. They're choosing to enforce THIS one, the one that actually effects gameplay on the field as opposed to overly showy "patriotism" and politics.

Benny Thompson did the dog thing after a special teams play 20 years ago.

No one cared.

Funny - I thought it was currently en-vogue to 'take a knee'

I thought the "hide and seek" celebration was in good taste and acceptable. Still wish they'd be like Franco and just underhand toss the ball to the refs, but in this day and age this celebration was a bit of fresh air.

Yeah, but if the Offensive Coordinator put as much effort into the gamer plan as our receivers put into their routines, visits to the end zone would be common enough as to not need the flourish.

The OC has a reputation for not going the extra mile as far as game prep, and he's constantly late for player meetings.
