1997 Steelers 10 at Chiefs 13 MNF

Bettis gains 103 yards on 17 carries, but running back Marcus Allen's 14-yard touchdown pass late in the first half proves to be the game winner. Trailing 13-10 late in the game, the Steelers face a 4th and 2 at midfield with 3:50 remaining... and choose to punt. It's a fatal error, as Josh Miller's shanked punt travels only 20 yards (to the chagrin of Bill Cowher), failing to pin the Chiefs deep and KC picks up 3 critical first downs to run out the clock.

This one makes me sick to my stomach. Reminds me too much of the AFC Championship game from the same season. RUN THE F*CKING BALL (as Jugs used to plead on the red phone). Steelers had a 3rd and 3, 3rd and 2, 3rd and 2, 3rd and 2, 3rd and 3, converted only one of these, and not once was Bettis even on the field.

Pathetic 3rd down defense as well.
