'Ya know, some of these wins are ugly, I know. But there's something to be said abut being tested and PASSING the test again and again. This team isn't perfect, but they are BATTLE TESTED.

Great comeback, HUGE win.

Man, I hope ESPN gets a new MNF team soon. These guys suck. Possibly the worst team ever.

I've lost a ton of respect for Gruden tonight. Stupid play by a young Ju-Ju bit Burfict is a cheap-shot thug.

Ryan Shazier is currently being hospitalized while having his back evaluated after being carted off the field during the first quarter of Monday night's game against the Bengals.

While the team has offered no official update on Shazier's status, ESPN's cameras overheard team GM Kevin Colbert informing Mike Tomlin that the team's Pro Bowl linebacker "has no feeling in his lower body." You can see video of the conversation below.

True - Ugly wins are still wins. We're 10-2, technically 1st place in the AFC

We've a lot of tough players, and even William Gay came through big.

Agreed, my signature line strikes again. I'm not changing it until after the Super Bowl.

Need to get Haden back soon.

My heart and prayers out to #50. Hoping and praying for good news.

Yes, and Burns did a little better tonight. JJ Wilcox was terrible on special teams but the officiating was equally bad.

Gruden - How about a nice warm cup of STFU.

I don't think a suspension would be out of the question.  That was a dirty play.  Sure it was Burfict.  I get that.  But you don't do that.  The penalty on that could have cost us the game.  It was an ignorant thing to do then to stand over the guy like that was just bush league.  He's young but he needs to apologize for that hit and he needs to be suspended for a game.

I don't think there was a damn thing wrong with the block.  It was shoulder to shoulder, THEN the helmets hit.  The taunting was uncalled for.  A few plays later he rightfully did it again, but about 3 inches to the side; another shoulder block that wasn't as "violent".

HOWEVER

The NFL plays both sides of the coin.  Remeber the Raiders Vs Chiefs TNF Intro "Embrace The Hate" With Ving Rhames?  Here's a reminder;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mycVKCAdqy8

The salary cap this year is about $168 million dollars per team.  53 players on a team.

32 teams in the NFL = $5,376,000,000 in salaries for 1,696 total players.

Avg NFL salary is $3.169 million per player, per team, per year.   To play a game.  A game that is know to be violent.  If that's a surprise to anyone, they need a cognitive test for mental retardation.  They can get hurt.  They can be concussed, and rarely, they can have a serious spinal or neck injury.   The game is CONSTANTLY degraded in the name of 'safety'.    You can compare baseball stats - the game is basically the same (though the players in the glorious 'days of old' drugged and doped the shit out of themselves).  Not so with football.  You can kind of compare decades, but that's it.  The games used to be much tougher than it is now.

For PERSPECTIVE:

in 2017 the Active Duty Army (the one currently fighting America's longest running shooting war) has approx 476,000 soldiers.  The total amount on Active Duty salaries is $13,600,000,000 or an average salary of $29,380 per soldier.  Most lower enlisted with kids qualify for - and are encouraged to use, food stamp cards.

4,486 U.S. soldiers died in Iraq and 2,345 U.S. soldiers died in Afghanistan, 1 million U.S. soldiers have been 'wounded' to some degree in both wars.

Big Ben's Salary this year is equal to that of 579 soldiers.  The Steelers 53-man roster, per year, would pay the salaries of a 5,700 soldier combat brigade.

.....despite jackasses on the sidelines calling themselves 'warriors' - they most certainly are not.   Soldiers are warriors - and professional ones at that.

Football players are entertainers.  Entertainers who are insisting money that recognizes real warriors be diverted to their own 'social justice' programs.

Suspension my ass. He turned the shoulder. If he doesn't taunt him IMO he doesn't even get flagged.

Shazier IMO is in bad shape, his legs didn't move an inch. He's been living on that edge since we drafted him, he constantly ducks his head.

Btw anyone see Hawkins, another 300 pound offensive tackle running a pass pattern? 2nd play of the game?

Haley's just not very bright.

No way will he be suspended. First time offense. He WILL be fined, I'm sure.

I see a fine coming for the rook, but a suspension is way out of line. The NFL makes money on hard hits and then wants to fine the the very players for such. They are void of  character (the NFL). I don't think the hit was bad but the taunting was. However, I did get just a tiny, tiny chuckle deep down inside seeing the replay. I seem to remember a certain #86 laying out a Bengals player similar to that and striking the same pose.

I think we may now see a sea of suspension because of the dirty cheap shot administered by Gronk. The NFL is cyclical in ways.

Lastly, perhaps good news on Shazier being reported by Bouchette. Let's keep the prayers going for #50.

And Ben is taking some SHOTS.

That's why I don't get hung up on sack numbers.

The Bengals only had 1 "sack".

But Ben got hammered in that game.

If Shazier is out for any length of time they MUST allow James Harrison to play inside.  He plays deep middle in coverage at times anyway, and IMO he's still a better player than #44 is.

But Vince Williams has had a nice season as a starter, should be in the Pro Bowl IMO.

Debo has a back injury, doesn't he? If he was healthy, I've got to believe he would've seen action last night.

yeah looks like the end of the line for James.  Watt and Dupree need to step it up.  NOw we need someone to play the middle. Secondary looked a little better 2nd half but man that defense scares the hell out of me.  So soft against the run lately.  Injuries are going to be an issue going forward.  No clue who we put at corner if joe can't come back

Right... but isn't he inactive because of a back injury?

I don’t think he was on the game time injury list this week. Not sure however.

I'm sure we'll see him Sunday night. He excels against the Ravens, he had a sack earlier in the year against them.
