It's officially Rats week. Just saw a post when we beat the Rats Sunday night we clinch the North.

I’m in the “Pit of Misery” having turned off last night’s game at halftime....

I have learned over the years, especially this year not to give up on the Steelers. They are truly battle tested this year. 

What was missed early on by me was how tough this 3 game stretch will be: Bengals, Rats, Patriots.

I think we squeak by the Rat-birds. Lose to the Patzies... I just don't see our defense stopping the pats. And With the slow start to get going all the time, New England and the Bradys will go up 28 to 7 and we will have to big of a hole to climnb out of.

Thats Bel-cheats game plan... To have no plan, full throttle us and let us try to climb back in.

I’m not so sure our D is stopping anybody lately. For most of the Bengal game, their horribly rated OL made idiots out of our vaunted DL. Tuitt especially sucked. If it weren’t for the 173 penalty yards the Bengals rang up, we’d be 9-3. We can’t expect that kind of implosion every week.

The D is definitely struggling. We'll be much improved when Haden and Mitchell get back in the lineup. But it was the linebacker play that simply wasn't there vs. Cinci. I don't put it on the D-line. Matakevich was terrible in relief of Shazier. And when Fort replaced him, he was clearly struggling to make the calls. TJ Watt is an average LB IMO. Nothing special about him at all. Not saying he won't end up having a great career, but so far, he's just an average player. 

Shazier leaves a GAPING hole in the defense. It'll be good to have Harrison back in there, assuming he's physically able to play. He gives the team an emotional spark, and even though he's a shadow of his former self, he's a still guy that makes "splash" plays. DuPree and Williams are solid. I feel good about them. But the rest of the linebacking corps, sans Shazier, is very suspect. Those repeated 8-9 yard Cinci runs were due to poor linebacker play IMO.

Tim, you might want to go back and look at those runs. Tuitt was repeated ly devestated by down blocks all game long. Maybe Shazier might have had the speed to cover, but it would have been better if Tuitt was staying in his gap instead of being driven to the other side of the Center.

I say the Patriots are in the far off distant future.   I say pray for #50 to recover, but after you leave the facility.  The focus for the players, the coaches, the staff, everyone needs to be the Ravens.

This defense is kludge. Pure and simple. We have zero secondary play. If we're facing anyone else but Daulton they put up 40 on us. We cannot stop the run plays for splash yardage nor the pass plays. A phantom holding penalty saved us from yet another completely disastrous pass TD when the idiots couldn't find a wounded duck that Daulton tossed up in the air. I guess we spend five more picks next year on defense for zero return. Really getting frustrating seeing receivers run wide open all over the field. I have no clue how to fix it. You can thank God that needing two yards to at least send the game into overtime the bungals decided to drop back and throw. You can't appreciate stupid enough at times
