I was afraid of that but it doesn't surprise. First the patriot fan base almost immediately starting whining after the play. Then, Jon Gruden wouldn't let it go, he bitched and moaned about it even after the game was over. Lastly, the NFL is doing everything right now to cover its own ass. There won't be an NFL as we know it in 5 years.

It's hard to understand how Gronk can get one game for a flagrant hit outside of a play and Juju gets the same for a hit within the game. Taunting aside one was meant to harm while the other was part of a regular football play at full speed. I think the commish got this one all wrong. I don't object to penalize both but the Gronk hit surely deserves a harsher punishment.

Was it suspension worthy? In today’s game yes. Hits to the helmet are going to be flagged. The taunting post hit, not a Mensa type moment.

The same goes you the hit on AB, but what I don’t get is the Gronk hit is only worth one game. Juju, and Ilukia”s hits were football plays. Gronk’s was deadball thuggery. Big difference, an worthy of a more significant amount of punishment.

Actually A-B will pay the fine and Ju-Ju is being celebrated in every locker-room sans Cincinnati (and maybe quietly there as well, Burfict has hurt a few of his teammates in practice and I believe he sucker punched a college team-mate).

That would be nice, but really, just how many totally blow out games have we had in the last 10 years or so? I mean, absolutely from the get go, no doubt, the other team shouldn't Have bothered to get of the bus type win. So lopsided the network switched to  another game in fear of causing an insomnia epidemic?

If we don't have those kinds of games against teams like the Browns then there's something wrong.  We beat the god awful Browns this year by three lousy points.  Almost lost to the Bengals.  Beat Indy by 3.  Almost lost to a packers team without Favre.  There is something wrong.  Without 50 on D we are going to be in big trouble.  Tuitt, Heyward, are being gashed by running plays.  Watch the tape of the Bengals game first half.  BOTH were moved out of the way with ease.  Now we have no Shazier?  I do not believe we will ever see Ryan play again.  I hope not.  Once they start sticking rods in your back to stabilize your spine you need to re-think playing football.  He will be missed.  The most frustrating thing about the Steelers is that next year they will have zero room to sign an impact free agent on D unless Ben retires.  If Ben retires with the loss of Shazier I have no idea what this team will look like.  I wanted to believe that they see something in Landry but he absolutely sucks when he plays.  All this rolls into what the Steelers are at this point.  The fact that they don't blow teams out once in a while is indicative of an issue with coaching and players.  With everything happening around Shazier this week I look for them to lay down quietly against the Ravens at home and get blown out by the Pats.  I am not comfortable with the resilience of this team.  Nor am I comfortable with the coaching.  If I see Nix on the field the first couple of series against the Ravens I'll know where the game is going.  Grimble, Nix, should NOT be out there.  We'll see.  First two plays against the Ravens?  Runs.  Hope I'm wrong Maybe it's time to go to a 4 - 3. yeah i know we dont' have the personnel to play it. We'll see how they look in the 3 - 4 against the Ravens

I’ve been evicerated on other sites over this opinion, but Dirty Red reminds me a lot of Tony Dungy’s playing days. He’s a player that knows exactly what is going on, where everybody needs to be, but just doesn’t have the wheels to get there. 

 As for us running a straight 4-3 as a base defense, I’d rather see Alalu as opposed to Mccullers, but this has as much chance of happening as the Browns winning the Super Bowl this year.
