I've turned off media (TV, Radio, Podcasts) that have to do with sports.

If you arrived on this planet after 6pm EDT Monday, you'd think Ryan Shazier was brutally murdered and JuJu Smith was akin to Charles Manson.

Pardon my Francais - but give me a fucking break.

News flash #1: football is a violent sport.  I know, I know - it's a shocker to learn, but listen to Unca Ray-Ray.  6' 5" men weighing 250-300 pounds slamming into each other have repercussions.  Most of us learn this when we're 10 and pick up a Nerf football.  In due time, we get to tell Mom to buy us a real football and not a sponge because the FOOTBALL doesn't hurt you.  The mongoloid freak sized fifth grader who tackled you into a Buick is the one that hurts.  

News flash #2: guys play football because it's a violent sport.  If the feminist of the world (both male and female) want to see 'toxic masculinity' - visit a football locker room.  Jr. High, High School, College, or Pro.  Doesn't matter.  It's macho.  It's mean, It's tough.  It's about proving oneself against a formidable foe.  If you play a weak team and run over them, they're "pussies", or "little faggots who can't play".  Someone crack blocks, or cut blocks you - you're going after them the next play.  It's aggression, it's impact.  

News flash #3: American's watch football, and it's our most profitable form of entertainment, because it's a violent sport.  ESPN exists because of football.  Beer sells in the volume it does because of football.  Football is as intertwined with Thanksgiving as the parade everyone tunes into but doesn't watch.  As a kid, I was pissed off because my turkey didn't have 6 drumsticks like Madden's had.  We buy big screen TV's for football, not Prancing with the Stars.  After Black Friday (otherwise known as "Week 12") the week before the Super Bowl is when most TV's are sold in the United States.  Do we do all this to see the deft precision of a three step drop hitting a slot receiver for a 7 yard curl pattern?  No.  We don't.  Don't fucking lie and say you do.  If you DO tell yourself that bold face lie - I'm sorry - NFL Films does not have a collection of "The NFL's Greatest 7 Yard Curl Receivers" - however they DO have the "Crunch and Hard Hitting Series" featuring, "In the Crunch", "Crunch Course II", "Crunch Masters", "Big Blocks and King Sized Hits".  Do we want to see people get hurt?  No, no, no - way too politically and socially unacceptable to say or even think that.  In reality, no one wants to see anyone suffer a career ending injury that's permanent - but we love those broken bones.  Relish those contusions, the occasional bloody uniform, the "valiant warrior who came back from injury to lead his team" or the  'toughness' of Brett Farve, we ourselves were celebrating the toughness of Antonio Brown on his TD catch.  Mark Gastineau had 74 career sacks and led the NFL for three seasons.  No one remembers him.  Not even people in my hometown of NY.  Why?  He was a pretty boy who was the master of the 'gentle sack'.  People in NY worshiped not the guy in green (Gastineau) but the guy in BLue - Lawrence Taylor.  Why?  LT would rip off your fucking head and feed it to his kids.  LT was a coked out, women-beating degenerate, but he was violent on the field and we couldn't get enough.  Remember when Strahan got the sack record in 2002 with the bullshit "sack" of Farve in the last game of the season?  Guess who's sack record he broke.  Gastineau's.

News flash #3: The NFL is beginning to suffer, because they are trying to remove the violence.  In Monday nights game there were two mind-boggling "what the fuck" moments.  One was Bell's TD when Bengals cornerback William Jackson went way hands off.  Why?  Because he though Bell's toe was out of bounds and if he touched him it would have been a 15 yard penalty and a possible fine.  In the days of football, it would have been, "if there's any doubt, you drive through that son of a bitch and you make sure".  The emasculating pussyfication of the game cost the Bengals 7 points and probably the game.   Play number 2 was Bud Dupree 'letting Dalton go" on a sure sack.  He admits it.  He thought the ball was gone.  It wasn't.  Ramifications?  Roughing the quarterback, unsportsmanlike 15 yard penalty and possible fine.  Result - let him go.  Was any of that reported?  You know - the shitty football where players violate rule #1 ("complete the play" - "play to the whistle") because, "ooh I might have done a bad thing".  No.  It's all, "Dirty hits, injuries mar Pittsburgh win".  JuJu Smith-Schuster has been suspended and vilified for blocking a linebacker who was in perfect position to tackle the ball carrier.  Why?  It was a "too hard" hit.  Then he was intimidating.  Tim, I'm sorry - you really really need to take down all the old game video's.  I couldn't possibly let my son see "The Criminal Sociopath" Jack Lambert, or "He Who Wasn't Always Nice" Green.  

News flash #4: NOBODY WATCHES THE PRO BOWL because it's joke football.   Well, my bothers, embrace that shit.  That's where defenses are going.  Ryan Shazier got hurt.  I feel bad for him and his family and I, like every Steeler fan, wants to see him come back to play, keep his head up, and still crack the living shit out of people.  If he doesn't - he has all my best.  Whomever replaces him still better crack the living shit out of people.

News flash #5:  The general NFL fan isn't personally invested in the players - they're fans of the team.  They chase the logo.  Joe Theisman was snapped like a twig on Monday Night football by the aforementioned LT and Harry Carson.  The NFL *still* makes money from selling the highlight.  Remember Mike Utley?  Most people don't.  I'm sure Darryl Stingley is still bemoaned by the Patriot fan base whom I'm sure are protesting that he gets proceeds from the contract that was written up and was going to be signed after the game when Tatum broke him......but never was.  Players come and go, and we *really* don't care how they go, as long as our logo wins and other fans don't see us in a negative light.   It's ok.  Really.  Just ask NASCAR fans (who watch for the wrecks, not the precision left turns).

I used to think, "Soccer will never be our national sport."    It's coming.   They're killing the NFL, and thanks to political correctness, everyone's going to let it happen.

I turned on Good morning football (Which I never watch) on NFL Network and they were praising krapperdick like he was a god! And talking about the hits in the Bunghole game.
